So in reading the owners manual, there are warnings not to charge the car in a confined space, such as a garage. Is this just the lawyers talking or is there actually a -reason-? The LiIon battery doesn't emit anything when charging, and it appears the 12V battery is NOT charged by the system when the car is plugged in for charging. What's up?

TP's post is from 2-2 Charging pg 143 of the owners manual.

Dave's post is about this on pg 89 I think

This is not charging with the cable. It is charge mode on the car.

Ok that's the CHG Mode. Of course you want to use that in a ventilated area because the engine is running and therefore you don't want a build up of exhaust gases.

    My interpretation.
    In garages.

    Page 143
Fails to warn about Hv and car on or car off.
In Hv mode, car on, the ICE could turn on, killing everyone in the house.

    Page 89
Is specifically concerned with car on, possibility of ICE turning on

    My spin
You should be ok if the car is off, and charging.
ICE does not turn on if car is off.

Modest - I used it twice. I'd say under 2,000RPM, probably closer to 1,200 by the sound.

THE OP ref is not in the manuals. Manuals only mention not to do anything that might run the ICE indoors because of exhaust gas. In many many places. I searched confined, indoors, inside, garage, charge ect

Still waiting to hear if the remote climate (Intune) or preheat functions start the ICE if temps are below ~14f. I think not for all those exhaust gas reasons. Doesn't claim to be a remote engine starter anyway or that you can preheat below 14f. Finland models come with some sort of heaters as accessories. Some with 2 wattage levels.

Very unlikely. These cars burn so clean it would be really hard to contain enough CO2 to kill anyone.

Oh great, so in addition to stolen wheels we have to worry about them stealing the springs from our suspensions? :p

That would be even harder to deplete. Garages and houses just don't seal anywhere near enough for that.
