A little over a week ago, I traded in my '05 on a '13 PiP. The old buggy was running great, but needed some pricey brake and water pump repairs that I don't feel qualified to make myself. Plus, the clearcoat paint was peeling worse and worse. Todd Thompson at Tampa Hybrids offered me exactly what I thought he would in trade. I didn't feel like spending that much on that car, especially since Todd had several nice PiPs on his lot. Looks like he's got it all fixed up and ready to sell. He even left in the EV button I had installed. LOL! Lutz FL - 2005 Toyota Prius Hybrid 6 Leather Navigation JBL Bluetooth Smartkey 149k Miles - Car for Sale - Tampa Hybrids Inc.
I'm having "traders remorse" for trading in my 2010 Prius. It was a fantastic vehicle, in great condition other than the front bottom chin that took a beating on our towns drainage gutters. I REALLY appreciate my Avalon hybrid, but I miss the 2010.
Most sellers have remorse after seeing their traded in vehicle sell for more on a car lot. It's like selling your stock and next day it goes up 10%.
He gave me $3,000. If he had had to pay full retail for the fixes it needed (which, of course he didn't), he would be losing money at his selling price. I'm confident that I came out better than if I'd had it fixed and that he'll make a fair profit. He has always treated me well and I've lost count of how many freebies he's given me.
My wife's has the same dent (an '07) and so does mine. I think it's some kind of initiation rite for Prii. LOL!
Todd has treated me very well also. I wish him the best of luck he has a nice operation. I recommend him.
