Prius C - Flasher Relay

Mostly everyone seems to think that the Prius c's flasher relay is located within the combination meter. Toyota also thinks that, and I was able to get the dealer to print me out the schematic and say that it was in there. I found the same schematic online and was more or less looking for the dealer to know something that we didn't.

The ONLY problem that I have with accepting that it is located within the combination meter is that we have a member saying that he found the relay, replaced it with a relay for LEDs, and is now using LEDs successfully. How can this be possible? It's not that he has some kind of phantom Prius c. If he has a replaceable relay, then we all have do.

A separate flasher relay (8-pin) does exist on the 2G/3G hatchback. Doesn't for the v or c.

 

Again, this does not fit with what Dr_DLH posted.

Not looking for an argument, sir... Just trying to understand how someone with a Prius c supposedly located a relay and replaced it when all else suggests it doesn't exist.

I am sorry I do remember that and I think that is where my arm went through or above it. Its actually above it behind it.

 

Hello, have had leds for about 2 yrs and was wondering if you guys every figured out if we can replace it with a led relay flasher? I already bought it and have it but never installed it...

 

Wondering if ppl ever got the led relay flasher replaced. Looking to do it if it's easy enough. Thanks in advance.

Hmm, I've seen the blue relay all the way up that ppl said it was but it was hard to take off , so I gave up. Some ppl say we don't have one, some ppl say we do so who knows...

 

There are other relays used in the exterior lighting system on a Prius c, such as the TAIL relay shown in the diagram kindly shared by @SamanthaC0716 in post #42, but the Electrical Wiring Diagram for models sold in the U.S., available by subscription to techinfo.toyota.com, shows that transistors in the Combination Meter Assembly, not a flasher relay, are used to switch the LR and LL outputs to the turn signals:



These outputs are connected to the Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly, which distributes the voltage to the light assemblies. The Instrument Panel Junction Block Assembly does contain relays used for other purposes, and there are several relays elsewhere on the car, but none of these is a flasher relay.

The figure above is from the EWD for model years 2016–2018, but the diagrams for previous years are similar.
