I called my dealer, and got the "we will look into it". This will happen with my scheduled appointment early January.

They now want to have the car for several hours, to try to simulate the problem. Ok, so I guess my day belongs to Toyota....nothing better to do. :cautious:

From the Toyota website. Now the number works. This old dude must've misdialed.

    Documented.

Very friendly staff. No assurance that it will make a difference (they push it all back on the dealer) but it's recorded.

FYI......I believe that the "door locks" that failed on your old car are the same ones (or very similar) that are used on their newer models too; hybrids or not. This may be Deja Vu. Might not too.

Funny, yesterday I had my 2013 Honda CRV doing something strange with the door locks. I was getting thinks out of the car, and was locking and unlocking it with the remote. At one point I unlocked the doors and soon there after heard it relock. Yep I did it three more times and it relocked.

The Honda will relocks the doors if the remote unlocks the doors and the doors aren't opened. Does the Prius do this?

By any chance, could something in your pocket be pressing the Unlock button while you are within radio range but outside of earshot? I do this occasionally, sometimes unintentionally getting the Panic button. The usual culprit is another key or the tiny flashlight on my keyring, caught at an odd angle in too-tight pants pockets.
Mine does this only for the SKS unlock feature, not for the discrete Unlock button press.

Have you tried locking it with the metal key to see if it still does it ?

Yeah, I keep think about this. It's a similar behaviour, except mirror image, lol.

    No.

At least, I don't believe so. If all systems are functioning as normal, my distance from the vehicle would emit a beep. Given that distance this is something that I would clearly hear, should something in my pocket trigger my fob. Not the case.

You indicated that this happened in your garage. My garage is within fob range of my entire house, but insulation and inside house noises will muffle or mask the unlock beep most of the time. The continuing panic alarm is the only car noise certain to get through, eventually.

Sorry for the slight derail here, but are the power folding mirrors another regional item, or does my American market car have them too?

It looks like the US only has manually folding mirrors according to the owner's manual.

Hey - you're right. I just don't understand TOYOTA, we get auto-folding mirrors on all models, but no TyrePressureMonitors. It seems really random how they've sprayed features around the globe. Japan gets the most, probably every possible feature, understandably.
