Does anyone have a idea. If Toyota will bring Android Auto and Apple Car Play to the Prius in the future. Like the 2017 Prius Prime radio via a update. Any rumors floating around the internet? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
That's my only complaint about my new Prime. I think it's unlikely, but we should shout loudly! See the Suggestions post that was just posted, same idea. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I believe I saw somewhere about a hardwiring equipment to mirror your cellphone to the built-in-screen.
Can you post a link to this please? With voice assist on the phone this might be quite usable. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Toyota has competition now, they will have to finally give in,but I doubt the current used nav or audio systems are capable of beeing updated in that way .
Thanks for the link. Sadly will be too expensive for me. However . . . Not at all keen on the facility to play videos to the car screen while driving!! Seems potentially dangerous to me. Wouldn't want other drivers doing this anywhere near me! I assume the idea is that this is for passengers' benefit, but it could well tempt some drivers or at the very least distract them. I think this should be illegal myself. Should Priuschat shop really be selling something that does this? Shouldn't they insist that this feature bw removed? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Their website lists the Prime as compatible with the device. However, it seems like the device downgrades the video signal to RCA outputs so there would be a loss of fidelity.
If I can use Google Maps on my touch screen, that would be great. Apple Maps sucks however. I'd rather use Toyota's navigation system.
Could you please inform to a hopefully Prime-owner-to-be what I will miss out on by not having access to Android Auto or Apple Car Play? I do not currently own a car that has a modern infotainment system.
I rented a Hundai Be located while my 2013 Prius Three was in the body shop. It was not the top of the line model, but it's infotainment was far superior to my Prius with Entune. What a pleasure to have a decent nav system (Google Maps) running, touch and all, on the built in screen. It makes no sense that the Prius, with all its sophistication has such a lousy nav system. When the time comes I will be taking a hard look at the Hundai hybrid. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yes... Apple Play and Android Auto are the future... plus they are constantly improving and the kicker is that you don't have to do anything, the car can remain as is, but as Apple and Android do software updates, you automatically get updates in your car's infotainment system - it's pretty cool like that... plus auto-updating maps, real-time traffic, a large and growing selection of apps (also auto-updating), etc etc... you really can't go wrong - it's the future... TOYOTA, you need to take note ... or stay behind.
