    Source: Tesla settles lawsuit with Norway over electric car's performance - CSMonitor.com

    . . .
    The disgruntled customers, who will be paid 65,000 kroner ($7,700 USD) each, had claimed that their electric cars' performance did not live up to the carmaker's advertising. They said that their Model S P85D cars, which were marketed as having an "insane mode" of acceleration, were not as fast as promised.

    The models, which was supposed to be able to reach 700 horsepower, only reached 469 hp, the car owners argued in the lawsuit.
    . . .

    Well it looks like the bloom is off the rose. Time to go out to my Gen-3 and ...

    Isn't that what "Ludicrous" is for?

    I wonder what name Tesla will use when Ludicrous isn't enough power either.

    As a not too distant in the future owner of a Tesla, I find the folks overseas quite exasperating. Here they are, owners ... & yet they want to take down or punish the company they ostensibly believe in. Call me wacky, but where is the logic. You buy the quickest Tesla and it will do 2.5 or less in 0 to 60. AND in the ΒΌ mile - UNDER 11seconds. Excuse me while I revive one of my favorite pictures;

    Wha wha wha wha - these folks are too ignorant to grasp they're just shooting themselves in the foot... & they're too clueless to realize it. That's just good old-fashioned sad.

    No doubt shared fairly: $5,000 to lawyers and $2,700 to the owners.

    To be entirely fair, Tesla advertised a power output that would never be achieved in practice, and that was false advertising. They did deliver on the acceleration they claimed, but not the power.

    The equivalent would be something like Toyota claiming that the Gen 4 Prius has 166 hp, by simply adding peak power outputs of the ICE and MG2. It doesn't, it only has 121, because some of the ICE power is going through MG2, and the battery limits power as well.

    The irony is - Musk has already tweeted to 'be on the lookout' for what's coming ... ie: supposedly even more powerful & faster than your run of the mill 100kWh dual motor Ludacris - which surpasses the power and speed of the p90d ludicrous. The complaint - relating to the older rear drive only - 85kWh packs is so yesterday -

    There are plenty of speed freaks ready willing & able to buy the latest & greatest & they feed off the 'wow!' hyperbole. Those 6 figure models - just slightly better than the prior rev are the funds that help fund the model 3.
