Sorry, there is no link to the paper copy of Autoweek, October 31, 2016, pp. 39.

Buyers Guide, Sage Guidance, What's New For 2017

    TOYOTA PRIUS PRIME

HIGHLIGHTS: The 2017 Prius PRime plug-in hybrid comes with new creature comforts like a massive 11.6-inch infotainment screen, head-up display and wireless phone charging. Toyota claims it can span twice the previous generations's battery-only range. TOp speed in EV mode increases to 84 mph. Charging the 8.8-kWh battery takes 5.5 hours with a normal 110-volt home outlet, but jumping to a heavy-duty 240-volt charger will cut that time in half.
    BASE PRICE: $35,000 (est)
OUR OPINION: The new Prius is surprisingly fun to drive; a more luxurious version isn't a bad idea.

This is a gear-head magazine that I subscribe because they look at things objectively. None of the usual snark and replaced Consumer Reports.

sad that they don't know that pricing has already been released, and it starts at $27,000. before tax credits. but the rest of it was excellent.

Yeah, no two packs are alike, and even if they are, no two people pack them alike. So it's hard to tell how much space there is - or isn't. How about 6 or 8 paper grocery bags filled with groceries? You know, something useful. One back pack is meaningless. Unless you're going out for a one night roughing it camp out with no tent and no backpacker stove....

This reminded me of an ad or review from when the smart fortwo first became available in Canada.
They used cases of beer; the smart held two without blocking the rear view.

Funny. I'm certain that I've never had a case of beer in my car.

Unless you want to pay the higher cost for a 6 pack from a bar, by the case is the only way it is sold in Pennsylvania.

So 781 Primes were sold in the USA in Nov. That seems like a lot for the month it was coming off the (slow) boats.

It was a record for initial plug in sales, but it might have been arriving to dealers for more of the month than others.

Didn't Toyota say it fires up the ice every 200 miles for protection?
    Maybe that's why !
