I found the water all over inside of the fuel and charge door after heavy rain or car wash.
Are there anyone has the same problem?

The manual says not to use a high pressure washing system around the charge door because water could get inside. I couldn't find anything about rain.

Wow. Is the plug waterproof? I think I'd install my own seal on that door...

We have a lot of rains last weekend I the Bay Area. That's why I found out there's water all over inside of the both fuel and charge door.

pip is the same way, never had a problem in driving rain, snow, car wash. everything inside gets soaked, but charging isn't an issue. don't you get a secondary cap over the charge port?

I don't have a plug-in door. But yes, water does get inside the fuel filler door every time I wash (even with a gentle hose spray.) Always dry inside there after I wash. I also put a couple coats of wax in there, just so the water would bead-up and maybe not stay in there so long.

Do you guys with the new Prime also get all that dirt and water on the inside door sills? I've never had that happen on any other car I owned.

me too. the gasket seems to be interior, instead of exterior. maybe that accounts for some road noise and sheet metal door sound?

I even get rain seeping through the charging cap connector. Watch for headline news if any Prime owner get electrocuted while charging his/her car.

Sorry to hear that. I was hoping they had done some improvements.

I've seen some pretty strange complaints about the 2016 models. I hope nobody gets moisture or water in their headlights. And I hope nobody gets a malfunctioning sunroof. And there have been several comments about rattles in or under the dashboard; and of course grabby brakes. I hope Toyota has addressed these issues in the new Prime.

    My apologies. Merged.

My previous post sounded pretty negative. I really like the new design of the Prime. The rear and front changes look very nice. I specially like the back, and the nice long horizontal tail light across the spoiler. Vast improvement over the 2016, IMO. And the small square headlights look great too. I don't think you have to worry about moisture getting in there.

Toyota probably wants the Prime to look unique and different from the other models, but I hope all Prius cars eventually go to that new design.

I like the design as well. But the antenna on yours is a little much. Looks like a big plane.

Beats the orange Styrofoam balls we put on antennas when I was young.

Oh man, that sure brings back memories! :D They were so popular in my area, people would steal them off your antenna.

Actually I was going to add weatherstrip foam from Home Depot around the charging push door. Just want to stop any possible water leak into to my charging connector.

Heavy rain on last Thursday and this what I found and I took the car to Toyota Service and they said this's normal for this model. Nothing they can do to prevent the water gets inside, because there are no seal around both of the charging and fuel door.

I don't see how this water could cause an electrocution. The outside of the connector is not hot, so there's no path from the connector to your body.
