my daughter just got the ecopia's from tyrerack for her 2008, for $290. plus local install. hasn't put them on yet, but they get decent reviews. it depends more on your style of driving and personal preferences, plus whether you need winter traction.

We've put 195/65R15 Ecopia EP20 on my son's Civic Hybrid a couple of times now. They're a decent all-round tire, are good for LRR, but wear kind of fast, and get noisy when worn. This time around: have Michelin Defenders purchased, soon to be mounted on the loose OEM rims, but won't be installed in the spring, when the snows come off. They are rated GreenX now (not sure if they were before), and have an excellent treadware reputation. Gonna give them a try. Another consideration might be Michelin Premier A/S, but a lot of owners report mpg drop.
Michelins are nice, but very expensive, and their tread often outlasts the rest of the tyre. I replaced a set of Michelin EnergySavers at the beginning of last summer, the treads were only about 60% worn, but the sidewalls had started to develop microcracks, and they had become very noisy. (…but as they say YMMV)
Something to remember too is that your tire life and wear depends on your driving routes and habits. My commute is 90% highway with very few turns. My stock Ecopias are at 60k and likely can easily and safely get me though the winter. Though I am heading to Toyota today to get a oil filter and washer I will have them check the tread depth while I'm there.
Near-balding ecopia all-seasons heading into winter in Indiana, no worries, lol. By the time you're at 6/32" or less there's pretty much zero lateral siping. Tread-depth gauge is a good stocking stuffer, they're $4~5.
yeah i under estimated the depths. Im at approx 4/32 . by no means bald. but lower than i thought based on here and there visual inspection. Researching pricing now for purchase in the next month or so..
Interesting thing happened on the way to the forum. My daughter got a large screw that trashed the new rear EP20. Of course nobody stocks those. Told her to put the right size 422 LRR on the back and don't work about it. EP20s and higher end 422s are very nice tires with great MPG and wear at 42PSI. Only have experience with the MIJ ones so we will see what the Made Anywhere tire/422 does to MPG. Almost makes you want to stock a new spare in the garage. Ate the chicken last week.
Costco has the EP20, well, can get them in. Where was the screw, in the tread? Unless there was a tear I would have tried plug repair.
