Everybody just goes around me & I had a honk or two but I laugh everytime I pass a gas station! Now my husband has an egg on wheels if I ever saw one. His is a Yaris and it kinda does look like an egg. LOL

I have owned my PRIUS C for over eight months now....some family members call it a PUDDLE JUMPER....I just smile and say....yes, I put in twenty dollars of gas and go over 350 miles....not bad for a PUDDLE JUMPER

Favorite description I ever heard of the VW Bug was "pregnant rollerskate."

Coworker says this to me all the time when he rides in my C, "Ya know, I don't really mind the Prius, it actually looks okay. It's the driver of the Prius that make me crazy!! When I'm on the freeway, and if there is a slow down, it's always caused by a Prius driver!!" #eyeroll

This is my first Prius, and the smallest car I've ever owned. No funny quips, but my father is really concerned that "you get rear ended and die...". He is still very concerned since the back tires are so exposed without a crumple zone like a trunk.

My mentor has a lifted truck for off road camping says my car is a speed bump. :)

On cars like this, the back tires and suspension are part of the crumple zone. They get sacrificed, and their strength becomes part of the occupant impact protection.

While I drive a regular Prius instead of a C, I still get comments like "why'd you buy a Prius, are you gay" or "what time do you have to take your Nana's car back?"

I always answer the same way. I say 50+ MPG allows me to spend way more of my money on things I enjoy rather than putting it all into my gas tank and therefore OPEC's pockets.

I'd respond "do you have a problem with that? are you a gay basher?"

Besides that, a Car Talk survey found that among its gay listeners, the Prius was not among the Top Ten for any orientation. The men most favored Jettas, women favored Foresters and Outbacks.

Oops, my household has a Forester ...

Did it come with a Hillary for President bumper sticker? (Heard that a few times while the campaigns were in full swing)

    * Moderator Edit: Don't go taking this thread political because of this one post. Tossing that out there in advance because we know how things go... *

I think you really need to pick a different crowd of people to hang out with...

It's not so much people I hang out with as people I must interact with due to my job.

I'm a 70 year old guy living in ultra redneck goober Arizona, land of pickups and Hummers. You're not macho or even masculine here unless you drive something over 3 tons. When I switched from my Chevy Tahoe (fine vehicle, by the way) to my beloved little Prius (now on my 3rd one), I told everyone that my genitalia had shrunk, and I was considering a sex change. I even got a personalized license plate which reads 50MPG..........that really infuriates them. Unfortunately it also has bordered on road rage several times.

Actually, no one has ever rolled their eyes. If anything, it's about how much I spend for gas, I tell them and they are in awe. But then they say they prefer power over gas savings and I told them I understand, I used to have that same mindset back then, not anymore.

If anyone has their eyes rolling, it's my wife. It's because I told her that she has to drive my car differently and how to save money via driving within EV. But I think it's more of me trying to teach her how to drive it and be more efficient and thus seeing from her, the rolling of the eyes..lol.

So far I haven't seen too many eye rollers, believe it or not most have thought it made sense considering we live in between cities so driving distances is necessary. I'd say family has been the hardest on (all the typical stuff) but considering they save us so much money I honestly ignore it. I'd take my 50 mpg over their (at best) 19 mpg any day.

lol I would so do that!! Story of my life. I guess if people base their masculinity or prowess on their vehicle then I'd say they need help. People are pretty insecure.
