Brand-new Prius with 255 miles?

    I was directing my ire specifically towards dealer service. Although sales staff have made the car buying experience less than enjoyable also.

    The Eco Log remembers how many miles the car has been driven each month. I found this by accident scrolling through the various displays on the MID, and was shocked to see the car had approx 40 miles in April 2016, May 2016, another 30 or so the same month, and then nothing...... Until I purchased it in October. Obviously it sat unloved for months and months. When I test drove it I pointed out the mileage, and that someone had swiped the SD nav card from the head unit. He took one out of another car and booted my nav. My first inclination was to be upset, but then I remembered that they gave me a great deal and I'm driving it smiling every day.

    Thought I should update with the ending to this saga. First, this was not at Beamon Toyota in Nashville (we had gone down there and were not impressed...didn't seem like anyone really wanted our business). Instead, we ended up Bill Penney Toyota in Huntsville, Ala., which is about 90 minutes from Nashville. And that's where the original post re Clint and Puddin' and the wet wipes all began.

    That's where it ends too. We decided we didn't want to pay $1,100 extra to trade in our Silver for a Blizzard Pearl (even though it only had 6 miles on it). Just couldn't see it. I guess it was the only 2016 without ATP left on the lot (for those who wonder why they offered up that extra-cost car).

    In the end, General Manager Hunter Johnson was polite and got back to us fairly promptly by phone and email. I told him that I would report to this group his response to the whole incident. He said he is very sorry that this happened -- a kid's book, wet wipes, Bluetooth pairings, scuffed bumper, (not to mention the broken phone charger we noticed when we got home) -- the car should have been detailed and prepped, and he has taken steps to make sure this never happens again. We did get a $75 check to cover a new car wash.

    Moral of the story (and this whole thread): Ask about the mileage before you drive 90 minutes to pick up a car. And if you notice a library book in the backseat, be assured that there's probably more there than meets the eye.

    Our Eco Diary was missing mileage from October, as if it had been mysteriously wiped clean. Total 255 on the Odometer. Arrived in port July 26. 124 miles in August, 22 miles in September -- nothing in October. We put down deposit on Oct. 31, arrived to pick it up Nov. 5 (no new miles until that day).

    So, million-dollar question, where did the missing 109 miles come from? Mysteriously, on Oct. 14, the car got something like 199.99 mpg with no miles noted for the whole month. (That's the only entry for October.) Is there an easy way to delete the month of October (and why would anyone do that?)

    They did not prep the car for you even thought is is late? I hope they replaced the charger too.

    I bought my16 at Beamon Toyota in Nashville: I had no real problems. BUT, I have been driving Pri from MY02 Gen 1 so I knew what I wanted and only needed them to find / order the 4 ATP/ACP colour combo I wanted. took awhile (only 1% coming to this region were ordered) but I got it,,, they had to do a dealer trade to get it (they had to trade a Hi end Truck for my prize LOL) ... so it had 195 miles on pickup... I had hoped they would trailer it. No real big deal for me.

    I assume they told you they would trade and drive it.
    My local dealer said they would order my 2000 Tundra with bench seat. They ended up trading, driving it 500 miles and swapping pieces with another truck. I got most of the options I wanted except for the seat. I have only used them for dealer service and showroom looking since then.
