What did you do to ur Gen III Prius today????

Sound deadening project. Complete all 4 doors under $50. Incredible improvement in speakers sound quality and reduced road noise.

 

I've been meaning to do this for a while now.
My III has the JBL subs, which are awesome, but rattle the doors....what product did you use?

 

Thanks - perhaps a winter project in the garage (with a space heater)

Has anyone cross compared products?

Today I swapped wheels with my tc for a few minutes. 17x9.5 38 offset 225/45-17. Here's the mexiflush hellaflush

 

My understanding is that the cheap Peel and Seal will outgas for a very long time, although I haven't tried it. That's why I bought a material specifically for autos. The leading brand is Dynamat, but I used their competitor. I forget the brand name, though.

 

I used the cheaper FatMat on the outer door skin. I used FatMat to cover the holes on the inner door skin. Then I used DynaMat over the entire inner door skins.

My impression is that FatMat and and DynaMat are basically the same sort of thing. The difference being that the DynaMat is softer and doesn't require much heat to get it to conform to the contours which makes it less tiring to install. If I were a full time installer I would opt for the (more pricey) DynaMat for that reason. As for out-gassing, I have not noticed any odor whatsoever.
