It was actually tinted in Texas before we got the car. Our dealer had to search for a red v because that is what my wife wanted versus the white v on the lot at the time.

Here in the semi-tropics, I can feel the difference driving in my car with aftermarket (light) tint compared with Dad's old Camry with nothing where my arm feels like it's under the griller. I avoid the sun when it's hot, same in the car.

I agree - night vision apparently is on a steady decline from mid-20s. One thing I notice at 63 is that recovery from a super-bright light takes longer now.

But I think the tint on the side (and rear) windows has helped with that, whether it is filtering some of the superbright from "so called" fog lights at intersections or absorbing some UV from Xenon or HID bulbs, I'm not sure. I drove this car for about 6 weeks before the tint was installed, and noticed a significant improvement afterwards.

Agree, Alan. I think even a lighter tint is better than none at all. I feel naked without some tint.

The sun really plays tricks on mine. Maybe it's cheap tint? I don't know. At certain times of day, my parked car looks very black. But this morning, I looked at it from 20 ft away, and I could see right through it. Very light inside the car. Maybe the sun is reflecting off of my Harvest Beige interior.

If only they could invent a photochromatic application. They used to have one for spectacles!

Excellent idea, RCO. I can buy eyeglasses that lighten when coming inside... and darken when going out in the sun. So yes, that would be great for the car windows.
