Perhaps our friends in LA might visit and share their impressions?

I'm especially interested in the 'cut-away' and 'technology demo' displays. I don't need to see sheet metal art since that will saturate the regular sources. I'm also interested in any tire technology since that is an after-market we all have to deal with.

That's all the more obvious considering the flood of new utes debuting this week in L.A., a show that has traditional been focused on green machines.


The new Jeep Compass has been completely redesigned to resemble the hot-selling Jeep Grand Cherokee and is expected to have much better on-road manners.

They're coming from virtually everywhere in the automotive world, and from brands that might come as a surprise, including Italy's Alfa Romeo, a marque best known for sleek sports cars such as the 4C two-seater, and sport sedans like the Giulia that headlined the 2015 L.A. Auto Show.​

There has always been a risk that cleaning up the air, folks would forget how bad it can get. This would be especially true for the young who missed the worst of the 1970s and 80s.

The only salvation is today's ICE vehicles are with few exceptions, so much improved over 50 years in both fuel economy and noxious gas emissions. But success in clean air doesn't bode well for hybrids, plug-ins, and EVs. As the fuel cell effort slowly collapses in the face of an impartial, uncaring reality, it has diluted the credibility of CARB.

On another item,"An orange-red Fiat 500e with a decal that said "Drive today! At the auto show" jumped the curb when the driver lost control, police said. Its windshield was cracked and the hood damaged." (8 people injured at auto show when test driver jumps sidewalk | Reading Eagle - DRIVETIME). There is a reason why accident avoidance remains a hard, non-negotiable requirement for our cars.
