Canadian launch will be in the spring (Mar/Apr timeline) so we still have a few months to let the supply chain sort itself out (and the initial US and Japanese rush)
Mine hits port Nov 8th as others have indicated. I'll pick it up from Tustin (CA) Toyota on Sat Nov 12!
Tustin is the first dealer that I have seen whose front page actually shows Prius Prime. Congratulations on your new Prime. Are people paying MSRP minus the $500 Toyota cash back offer?
4 days from port to dealer?! I heard it was at least a week. But, I'm having the front protective film added, maybe that backs it up a little. Or do you mean it CLEARS port on the 8th? What ship was/is it on? (mine hit port on the 3rd on Century Leader No. 3.)
That is true about the posts. I have 3 Prius: '05, '07, and 2016 C. I was an active "viewer" anticipating my '05, but have been absent since.
I should clarify: Tustin will receive the car on Nov 9. I originally stated, erroneously, that it would hit the port on the 8th.
So I reread the email from Tustin Toyota. It said that the "Prius is due to hit the port on the 28th." That would have been Oct 28th. Later emails indicated that Tustin would receive it on Nov 9th. I don't have more detail than that. Apologies for being incomplete in my earlier posts.
bisco: I do have to say in response to your question about the age of my membership and lack of posts that I have learned a lot from these forums as I had anticipated my first '05 Prius, which I actually purchased in Dec '04. I joined thereafter and continued to learn things about my car from all of you. So thank you from me to everyone from whom I have benefited. I hope that I will be a better contributor in the future sharing experiences of my new Prime. By the way it is an 'Advanced' model, Magentic Gray Metallic. I'm giving up my '05 that has 250K+ miles and has served me very well.
this article from NY Times is from 2011, but it does show what vehicles must go thru between offload from ship and sent to individual dealers: Far From the Factory, Adding Final Touches - The New York Times
Did you get the black interior with your grey? Saw a New Prius C in a dark grey and it looked really nice. The dates you got were for the Aegean Highway which left Benicia/SF on the 1st. Not much to prep on a Prime but othe models headed the the dealer might have needed some. Just a few more days.
Yes. All U.S. dealers. It's on Toyota's main page, but links dead end. Think this is if you pay cash, maybe finance, not lease. For example: 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Incentives, Specials & Offers in Hanover PA or 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Torrance | DCH Toyota of Torrance serving Carson, Long Beach & South Bay
I saw 1.9% per 60 months deal flash by. While and why we wait. Green focus for Toyota at Long Beach - Automotive Logistics Toyota part 1: NAPO organisation and 'One Toyota' - Automotive Logistics
Usually it's "for purchase, either $500 back if paid in full or 1.9% preferred rate if you qualify for TFS". Lease customers just pay and pay. The amounts change often. At other times I've seen $2000 back or 0.9% preferred rate for customers who qualify (very good credit rating). Depends on how badly they are hurting and need to "encourage" sales.
At a dealership in Anderson, SC I've put the deposit on a silver Prime Plus. They haven't given us an exact date but they said I'll have it "within 75 days" and that was a couple weeks ago. So (hopefully) at the very latest I'll get my first Prius the first week of January... Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
