If I am going to seriously consider buying a Prius, I really need help deciding between the Prius 3, 3T, 4 and 4T. I really have a hard time determining the differences between them. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I just bought a 4T -- remember the touring do not have a sunroof. The 4's all seem to come with sunroof .. in order to get some of the safety items requires a 4 with everything. I did not want the HUD .. the 4T saves the cost of the sunroof and it gets the safety items I wanted.

I keep my cars -- the cost of the 4T over the 3T was worth it to me over 5-6 years of ownership.

I don't want a sun roof. Does the 4T come with all that white accents?

I didn't want leather but wanted the tech package myself, so I went with a three with ATP. If your opting for the 2017, safety sense is now standard and no need to get ATP unless you want a HUD and sunroof.

I don't really care for sunroof or HUD. I prefer the 4T with black leather interior. Is that possible? Will it still have the white accents?

You'll have to get a dealer-installed accessory that covers the cupholder area (And some will also cover the shifter area) in black.

But otherwise, what krmcg said ^^

    2Eco, 4 and 4T don't have a temp spare, just a pump with sealant.

All of the black/black 4T's that my dealer located came with the console package -- it removes most of the white -- I only have a few small parts still white. See if they can find you a 16 -- the 4T has not changed for 2017 ... the 2016 gets you 0% for 6 years and almost 1k more off the sticker. Save you 5k+ over the loan period vs a 17

I don't get why some have a spare and some don't does something take up the space in the higher trim level models

It could be the battery. I know my 3T (with spare tire) has the Li-Ion battery (smaller package) than the NiMH battery. It could also be weight.

The Prius Three (2016 & 2017) has the spare tire & NiMH battery.
I believe the Three Touring 17 inch wheels are heavier than the 15 inch wheels.

it might be for weight. the space is the same. you can order the correct styrofoam and put a spare in the ones that don't come with it.

It's weight. The added toys on Four and Four Touring trims mean that the cars would be heavier than a Three or Three Touring, so they remove the spare tire to keep the weight the same.

The Two Eco doesn't have one because it's specifically built as the lightest model.

I think , one big difference with the 4 and 4T is that you get a power driver's seat.

With the 4 and 4T you can also buy an option that will allow the FBI to track your car if you get kidnapped.

You get the 8 way heated power seat with either 4 ... it also lists the 4 way adjustable passenger .. it's not power ?? The regular seat in the 3 must also recline? So I don; understand this item. The 4 gives you the rain sensing wipers and auto mirror. also the 4's have the BSM/RCTA.

The T's -- come with the obvious wheels/tires but you get the Toyota safety sense (I wanted this) ... the only way to get it on the 4 is to add the Advanced tech package -- and that comes with the HUD and the sunroof.

The cost difference between the 3T and 4T is under 2k and it comes with some very nice items. .... the cost between the 4 and 4T was often around $500.00 (4T more expensive) .. and that's with the 4 not having the tech package. Many had the convenience package -- that I did not want/ need -- The upgraded radio is still not the best.

I'm surprised about the radio. I have a 2015 Lexus CT; low optioned car w/o navigation or the better radio. Actually. a bit cheeper vs the new Prius w/discounts -- The CT's radio and seats are superior to the new Prius
