At least in reporting simple technical details I do expect them to be accurate to be taken seriously:
"133 MPGe is 26% increase from the previous model". 133/95=1.40 or 40% increase.

 

What are the two notches on the bottom section of the front bumper - beneath the emblem, above the grill shutters - visible at 2:37?

 

"Toyota claims a combined energy consumption of 1.96 Le/100 km, which is not only 22% better than the previous Prius plug-in, but 12% better than targeted competitor Chevy Volt."

1.96 Le/100km is, according to my calculator 120MPGe. I don't recall Toyota claims this? Canada is using EPA test results isn't it?
Reporting correctly data given to them is the least we can ask from reporters? Or not...

 

"Based on a late-September drive here, heavy acceleration still will switch you out of EV mode in the new Prime, but there is more wriggle room than before for aggressive behavior. The accelerator now can be compressed two-thirds down vs. one-third."

I.C.E. mpgs keep improving; EV batteries are lasting longer; And even fuel cells are still in the mix. If all this is true, then why are companies like Delphi banking on something called a 48-volt, mild hybrid as the next big thing to power your car? Well one reason could be because experts see sales of over 12-million of these mild hybrids in consumer cars by 2025. But why guess at all this when we can hear it straight from a modern day Oracle of Delphi in the AFTER HOURS studio.

A rational reviewer. Good still shot of the battery cliff with the rear seat folded down. Doesn't anybody have a tape measure for the rear hatch space!?

 

nice review, thank you. just subtract 3" from the gen 4 with spare. that's an interesting shot of the recycling bins. my biggest concern.

 

After seeing and reading different reviews,it seems to me as if everyone was driving a pre-production model at different production stages .
That may explain why some felt steering was numb while others classified it as excellent.
Also the noise level and performance seems to have been perceived very differently .
Why would sombody say the performance of the Prime will blow us away,if it really would take 15 sec. 0-60 ?
Toyota clearly said that the Prime will not get kicked out of EV-mode,even is the pedal is pressed to the metal,so either these guys who claim the Prime still kind of behaves as the predecessor didn't listen to Toyota when the vehicle was explained to them and where using EV-Auto or it also has to do with different pre-production models .

It's about time that the Prime arrives at the dealers .
These stupid whiny "not fun to drive" reviews are becoming annoying !
Time to get some real feedback from real customers with the final production model !
