Well this is new. The typical speech is "sign up to get exclusive updates about Vehicle X". However, this one is a bit different:

I wonder if Toyota is planning special launch pricing (like it did for Gen 2 with the Prius Pioneer program)

2017 Toyota Prius Prime | Let's imagine the new possible.

i feel disrespected as a pip owner, and pioneer, who was already signed up with toyota on the pip emails, they didn't even bother to send an email about the prime.

After confirmation in April of joining the Prime email list, all I got was the initial response:

...Thanks for Signing Up...We'll stay in touch with the latest Toyota and Prius Prime news.

Then complete radio silence. Not sure there is anything news worthy they could email to us now.

Well I signed up for the Canadian one, on the Prime "screen" on their website ("sign up for updates on the Prime"). All I got was sales nags on -any- Toyota. Signed out. Nice try Toyota.ca!

Yes we've all had this and is mentioned on other threads. Nobody here has received any news at all after signing up.

It isn't quite true that nobody has gotten any news from the Toyota site. I was notified of the Prime drive event that was held in Portland a while ago.

Well I stand corrected. Maybe I'll get something emailed if they have a drive in Chicago?

More likely this sign up was just an interest assessment for their marketing crew?

Maybe, but not really much time for Toyota to still do this. The major markets (most of west coast and north east) will have the vehicles landing at dealers by this time next month. "Fly over" states may have to wait several weeks or more. Not sure about the "island" - the greater metropolitan area of Chicago - if that would be an option for you.

Sorry if you posted elsewhere, but have you asked when dealers there will be receiving the Prime?

That was one of my thoughts as well.

I was being facetious, i knew they wouldnt. Toyota is treating the second city like a third world country.

Yes, i spoke with A very large local dealer. Had no information at all.

Good folks who struck out on this item.

CR just ranked Toyota and the Prius at/among the top for reliability, so they're still killing it.

Yeah pretty sure it was just to gauge interest. I've received nothing either (and i don't think I received anything for the RAV4 Hybrid either).

Edit: I should clarify. I'm talking about Toyota Canada. I did not sign up for TMS e-mails because I'm not in the States.

Promising highly anticipated info to your devoted loyal customer base and then tossing them to the curb. Well that's just dirty pool, and I don't play that game. Overpriced unreliable Tesla is sounding better and better, even with the wait.

Thanks for pinging me in to this conversation.

I talked to the rest of the team about this, and we're not quite sure where this went wrong. Everyone who signed up should have received an email, and we're very sorry to hear that some people seem to have been missed somehow!

I would love to have anyone who signed up but didn't receive an email to send me their email address in a PM. We'll cross-reference those specific people in our database to try and figure out what happened to your email.

I signed up for notifies, using 2 emails account (just in case, didn't want to miss anything) back in late April. The most recent email from that was on August 12 titled "Check Out Prius Prime’s Advanced Features". Both accounts got that.

I was hoping for something at this point, especially since I had been a pioneer in the past and was able to order my Prius PHV right away. Nothing came for Prius Prime. So, I went the old-school and attempted to order through my local dealer. Regional hasn't been able to provide my salesperson with anything yet, despite a $1,000 deposit I provided to indicate how serious I was about the purchase.

@Prius Team let us know what you can. Being a software developer for over 25 years, it's easy to see how things like an email to a sign-up list presents challenges. There's far too many things preventing the recipient from actually getting it. Thanks in advance!

My apologies, I did receive the August 12 email and I had forgotten about it. Still, I was hoping for more, and more often than just one email. That email didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know here at Prius Chat. We are die-hards, not your typical customer. I guess that's part of why I had forgotten it.
