Welcome back @slfare . It has been a long time...... Good to hear you made the move safely, and that you're still modding your prius.

 

I redid the paint job on my grills. Apparently, my prep was insufficient last time, and the paint decided not to stick! This time, I used Plasti-Dip.


The color came out darker than I expected, but I feel it plays off of the darker accent in the foglights well enough to get by

I'm contemplating doing my wheels the same, what do you guys think?

 

Today I finally realizes what bs Toyota extended warranty is. Called the road side assistant who told me the dealership was 5 miles away and I was like, Okay great! Driver showed up 2 hours later when they told me it would be only 60min or less. It took the driver more than half hour to get the car on the bed and obviously scraped my front lip . When we started driving I could smell alcohol off of him, clearly he wasn't all there. We arrived 45min later to the dealership. The dealership ended up being 35 miles away.
The service agent walks up and and first this comes out if his mouth is "that's highly modified".
Service agent then tells me "it's a $125 inspection fee."
To myself, Wth why am I paying every month for warranty when you can't even do the simplest thing.
All in all long story short, I called my AAA and the guy showed up within 30min. Picked up my car without even scraping it and brought me home.
Looked at the car myself and found out the oil filter gasket had loosened up and caused oil leak. Easy fix.
Canceling the extended warranty and putting that extra cash in my pocket for more mods.

 

Oh, I overlooked the absence of orange reflectors. Brilliant!

I have issues with the cutoff and my JDM HIDs. Is there a similar issue with the LEDs?

 

What was the symptom of your oil leak? Did your dash light up with warning lights?

 

I go to Cabe's Toyota...never to anyone else...no BS...NO modification BS...they dont f up your car at all...those guys appreciated modded vehicles....and I do have the extended warranty...Last weekend I got fixed for $35.00 a stripped wheel bolt...that was when I took my Prius to and the only toyota (AutoNation-Cerritos) Service Department push back I got...since then, never went back. So it really depends on the service department..so if your close to Cabe..I highly recommend them for modded prius extended service.

 

Swapped the VIP Modular wheels out today and got some fresh Energy Savers for the stocks at Costco. Getting lifetime alignment at Firestone now.

Removing Valenti tails and Plus Performance kit over the next few days then time to sound deaden doors/trunk/hatch.

 

Don't sell off my spare tail light...

What did I do to my Prius today? I left her at the shop for an alignment and a couple other little things. And while she wasn't looking, Mrs. Gadget and I jumped into the RX400 and drove to Sonoma.

I didn't get a warning light. I stopped the car just in time. Just trying to figure out how the filter gasket came loose.

 

I have established on my own what I call the "2" rule. If it cost less than $200 dollars and less than 2 hours of my time, I will do it on my own before taking it in to a dealer. The extended warranty is a good idea, but only if the other end of the deal lives up to its promises. Obviously in your case they missed the mark. I also resent the comment "that's highly modified"........yeah, so what? It means I know something about my car that you don't? It means you are afraid to work on it because it looks "different?". I try to remain non-biased when it comes to service departments at dealerships, but more times than not, no matter what kind of car I had, I always wound up spending more than quoted. I always got the dreaded phone call, after having my car sit for several days waiting for that "special part that's always on back order from the factory, who bought it from China or some South American Factory" on a Friday, at 4:45pm, telling me, "We just need to fix one more thing and you can have you car for the weekend!" Sorry for your situation, glad you fixed it on your own. I will do as much as I can on my Prius. That way, if I scratch it or....at 4:45pm on a Friday I need to "fix one more part", I know its true!!
