a review about 2017 accord hybrid

    The way he described the Hybrid system sounds nothing new as the Prius can propel the car without the ICE kicking in at relativity any speed depending on how you are using the accelerator. it also has a generator motor for charging and propel the car with both electric and gas simultaneously and also Coast essentially in neutral like. You can even roll off using electric only.

    Here is the basic difference if he didn't explain it right.
    The Prius is a power split hybrid, or a parallel-series hybrid. MG2 is in parallel to the output from the ICE, and will draw power from the battery. Then a portion of the ICE's torque(20something%) output always goes to MG1. This can be used to produce electricity and power MG2. So there is two paths of power going from the ICE to the wheels.

    While it can be defined as a power-split, the system in the Accord mostly operates in a series mode. The ICE will clutch in at highway speeds, but it is more EV driven than HSD overall.
