Blue led dash conversion

\\Having read this thread with interest, I have to note, do not like the blue. way too bright for night vision purposes!
Kudos to the poster who used the amber LEDS, much better for NV! It's what I did, and big KUDOS to this guy, Dylan Doxey, for this post! Nice job on the plan, research, and implementation of the plan, It looks great!
This is the kind of mod I can appreciate!!

The Oznium ambers are 603nm.

They are also 130mcd, which is the same brightness as the blues that the other guys are using.

Hmm, I didn't think the brightness would be that much with ambers. I'm thinking of going with amber for everything, and red for anything that toggles. I may consult with you one more time before I submit the order.

How to use these images:
1 -- get the image filename
2 -- isolate the number between _ and .
3 -- find the Rosculux number on this page: Roscolux - rosco.com

For example, this image:

has the filename: 111671_381.jpg

Looking up 381 on the rosco.com page you see that is "Roscolux #381: Baldassari Blue".

I ordered a sheet of Storaro Red #2001, Storaro Yellow #2003, and Brilliant Blue #69.

In the end, the RoscoLux "brilliant blue" filters did not deliver the rich blue hue that we were expecting. Although it looks pretty good in these photos, it still has a greenish overtone.



As for the Roscolux "storaro red", this too didn't have quite the deep red done that I expected. It has an orange cast to it. But it looks great and I'm very happy with it.


I took this snapshot in the afternoon sun. My chief concern was that it would be too dark and difficult to see in daylight driving. This photo is fairly accurate. It's darker than unfiltered, but definitely more visible in daylight than the Silk Blaze red filter.

Mmm, hard to say exactly. We sort of did all three together. Sean did the remove & install, and I did the cluster work.
With Sean & I tag teaming it like before, I'd guess we could do one of these in an hour. ( Most of that time would be me soldering LEDs. )
