I took delivery of my second Prius a week ago and now have over 900 miles on the odometer! This is my second Prius, my first was a 2103 Prius 2 and I am loving this car! I put 70,000 on my first Prius in three years and on a whim I traded it and got this new one in a beautiful Sea Coast Metallic green. My computer says I have averaged 65 mpg so far and the first fill up at 575 miles by computation showed 60.4 mpg. These new cars drive altogether so much better than the previous versions, sportier, quieter, hold the road better and so much nicer interiors and sound systems. Now I just have to relearn all the possible functions of the computer displays. The only negative about the car is no spare tire!

sounds like us, same color prius you have, we've had ours 2 weeks tomorrow, already over 1,200 miles on it. We love new prius, find it lot easier to get full of gas than gen 3 prius

I just got mine on Thursday, This is my 3rd I had a 2012, 2015 and now this great 2016. My color is Hypersonic (Barcellona RED).
I got no stas yet, but will post them later once I can get the hang of the displays. My only neg is the lack of the small space under the rear mat.

Well, technically it was our son's car, last Tuesday. It was in our driveway, and just a slow leak (until I pulled out the screw, then hoo boy!). I removed the tire and plug repaired. Still, I've been out and about, found tires completely flat, needed that spare.

Good job on plugging this yourself.

In my experience (n = 4 or 5) flat tires found in the driveway or parking lot respond well to a can of Fix-a-Flat or a portable compressor only.

You have some uneven tire wear there. Looks like alignment-caused. (The inside edge is worn more than the outside).

I was waiting for that. The rears have negative camber, it is spec'd. They always wear a bit faster on the inside.

I have not had a flat in at least 20 years. That said I do an annual drive in Nevada where I go 60 miles on a mid-quality dirt road in the middle of nowhere, and for that, I take the Corolla with its spare tire. No way would I chance having no spare on a road that handles maybe one or two vehicles a day.

Maybe plugs have changed, but I tried one in the past and it leaked. Not a long term fix. I was taught that tires must be patched from the inside, which means removing the tire from the rim which also means a tire shop must do it. Something also about the plugs being sawed off by the steel belts causing a leak. Not sure I believe that, but I always have tire shops repair my flats. Usually, if there's a nail in the tire, you get a slow leak, and you can pump up the tire and drive to the tire shop.

A combination patch & plug is best:

I had a flat within the 1st thousand miles on my new Prius, it was a 2011, glad it had a spare, cause the tire was ruined before I could safely stop. Got a spare with the Avalon, wouldn't go without one.

  14. Does the lack of a rear windshield wiper bother you?
