Prius Prime 105mm Longer than Gen4 Prius

    Notice it looks like maybe 1 or 2-ft3 of cargo vol in the hatch itself where the smaller rear window is indented. Not sure if all Gen4 look like that inside.

    Nope. No storage in hatch. Gen 4 is thinner. Here's a cutaway of the Prime hatch.

    According to Toyota design engineer, Prius Prime is 105mm longer than current Prius (80mm at rear and 25mm at front).

    "By rear overhang is 80mm extension, increasing the overall weight, the front also 25mm extension for the purpose of quality improvement of the front of the collision requirements and design.

    The results, has become an extension of the overall length of 105mm from the current Prius. Review of the EV cruising distance, which is a major attraction of the PHV will be the thing that also extends to changes in body size and appearance design."

    182 x 69 x 57

    The Volt:
    180.4 x 71.2 x 56.4

    so an inch and a half longer, about 2 inches narrower than the volt and half an inch taller.

    That orange attachment is the AC100V "Out". It plugs into the J1772 charger one on end (black end) and when you flip a cover on the handle end, there's a 2-prong power outlet to plug in small appliances.

    Not that I know of. I know people have been asking for DC out which will definitely not happen (It's not the Mirai and it won't be available on the Prime), however, the AC out could be a neat accessory.

    2017 Prime is 15.23 feet long
    2016 Prius V is 15.192 feet long
