Thanks for those links. Interesting options the home market will get. That 1500 watt built-in inverter is sleek - though, sadly, not an option in the U.S. Also makes me want the solar roof, even though it is an unnecessary expense. The black color is enticing since it totally zaps the giant maw lower grille, which is ugly to me. Black also negates the "floating" roof. I could warm up to that. Those white interior panel doors scream out, and totally not for me. So I don't know what interior I might want since black with black might be a bit strong. If I went with that scheme, I will call my creation "Dark Matter."

Yeah I like the AC out (the orange accessory) that can be used for camping. (e.g. boiling water on a kettle instead of bringing a stove).

What's involved with that orange thingy? Just plugs in? Japanese only? (they use 100v). Or might it work in the 120v 60hz U.S. market?

The black part plugs into the J1772 port. On the handle end, there's a hidden cover. You flip it down to expose a 2-prong outlet.

The red hides the raccoon faced tail lights which I think are the ugliest part of the car. I kind of like the predator face front end.

I like both the front and rear design actually. The front is a toned down look of the Lexus spindle grille. It's also has a 3D effect with the > < parts sticking out of the bumper. Not a fan of the plastic piece holding the foglights. I prefer it to be black rather than grey. The headlight detail where the chrome strip goes from the top of the side reflector and down to the bottom of the outermost LED light is cool. (Photo below is a new colour)

At the rear, the taillight covers are a darker red tint than usual. You can see it accentuated in lighter colours. I'm not a fan of the plastic fairing at the bottom of the bumper but I can see why it's done. The bumper would look pretty baggy/heavy if it was colour-keyed. However, it's an easy fix and I bet you they'll use that trick for the midlife update (reduce the amount of unpainted plastic to a strip, like the Gen 2 or 3.. well thicker/taller than the Gen 2/3 but similar idea).

The side profile is the one angle that isn't flattering. Visually, there's too much front overhang. It would be nice of the front axle was moved forward a couple of millimetres. The hunched look does make it look like it wants to go forward. On darker colours, the vertical chrome strip (associated with the rear turn signal and reverse light) will be highlighted. It's there in the photo below but not as eye-catching as it would if the car was painted in Midnight Black or Magnetic Grey.

it looks kind of funky, the way the windshield comes down to the god, and then the good goes up, there's no blending.
