as i was saying, i was just telling my wife, this carbon fiber prime hatch is an excellent way for toyota to get a start in this newer technology. she disagrees. she thinks they ought to find a way to test their mass production capabilities without impacting loyal customers.

You can remind your wife that Toyota has been introducing new technology for the masses via Prius since 1997. That has always been one of its purposes. In fact, that trait has served as an appeal factor to attract those who seek the latest & greatest.

couldn't find any photos in the rain, but it confirms 7 cm for the hatch floor height. The 11.6 display is mounted vertically (portrait) while the standard 8 inch is horizontal (landscape).

here are some translated bits from the cg website...

The floor of the cargo compartment, fit the drive for a lithium-ion battery capacity in the predecessor "Prius PHV" ratio has doubled. The height of the floor is higher about 7cm compared to the "Prius".

The left side of the luggage compartment, provided accessories outlet that can be external power supply. Time to feed without applying engine 3 hours at 1500 W. Using the engine to select "HV power supply mode" when it is possible to the power supply of about two days.

I would not think so. Most americans are right handed, so, it would make sense to satisfy the customer base and put it on the right side, just like they did in Japan. Although, I wouldn't mind it on the left of the wheel, I could reach in turn it on, and open the windows to cool it down on hot days before I got in. But if they had a solar roof with pre-cooling, I wouldn't have to do that would I?

btw, the body of notebook computer is carbon-fiber. It's strong, light-weight, and really nice looking.

Parts of my bicycle are too. Again... strong, light-weight, and really nice looking.

Note that the 8" will be standard in Japan but I believe the NA version will have a 7" screen as standard (same as Gen 4).

Carbon fiber has been around for awhile now. You can get a cello made out of it. It is just pricey to make car body parts out of. The i3 is BMW's first go at applying lower cost construction methods in a consumer vehicle. The Prime hatch is likely using those techniques since Carbon fiber expertise is what BMW traded with Toyota for FCEV technology.

Isn't 2016 the last year for tax rebates? Are they going to drop their price then?
