Sounds interesting, and this is embarrassing, but I'm not familiar with all that music technology. I guess I'm way behind the times...

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. USB stick? Flash drives? Bluetooth? Streaming music? MP3? Never used an "iPod." (I can barely operate this iPAD!)

And I make it a point to never use my cell phone in the car. I don't want anything distracting my driving. My old flip-phone is used for emergency calls only (and the occasional pizza order. :)) That's it.

And who can listen to music when you have noisy Toyo tires?! I'm an old fashioned "talk radio" guy, or I listen to a ball game.

iPhone via BT, or DAB (digital FM radio) which is pretty good quality also in places you would not expect to hear anything, and via AUX, my very old first gen iPod Touch, that I cannot connect via USB as it is not recognised (iOS version way too old).
Unfortunately I don't see any cover art via BT (it is probably due to the infotainment system I have, base version - please note that EU does not have the Entune system, but a EU version of the software shared by all Toyotas sold here in EU).

    WHAT???

    Huh?!

It's difficult being an old guy in this new technology world. :ROFLMAO: Just give me an a.m. radio with five push buttons, and I'm good.

I mostly listen to AM news radio, and the HD cutting in and out just diminishes the quality.

I really like the "Tivo" function of being able to replay radio time when I think I missed something. Then just speed through the commercials. This is my favorite "surprise" feature.

Haha. I don't mean generation difference in that sense. What I mean is that with current trends, music streaming services are more popular than ever. It's just interesting the differences in using physical media vs. cloud streaming services.

Certainly, being the millennial that I am, a smartphone is a must, so might as well use it to its full advantage.

I also recommend the XM radio subscription. It's really nice. Tons of stations. Doesn't use up phone data plan. Great quality sound. I've never gotten into plugging in my phone with the USB. I have the wireless charging pad, I don't have to carry a cable everywhere, and I "only" have 1200 songs on my iPhone (which I only use with earbuds). XM radio, Pandora, Spotify have much better selection than downloading to your phone.

Nothing but XM Radio for me.

I renew every 5/6 months at the cheapest plan available. Usually $25/30 bucks for 5/6 months and I'm golden :D(y)

Oh and be sure to only ask for customer retention within a week of your plan renewing... This way you can get the best deal.

Honestly for less than the price of a big Mac meal I can listen to whatever I want for the entire month

$5 / months sounds tempting. But how do you get this price?! I just looked up SiriusXM page and the cheapest package is $11 / month or $131 / year.

Customer retention when your plan is about to expire each and every time is key...;)

Like Felix said, he's just talking about physical storage media vs. streaming media.

lol. DAB is what the Europeans call "HD Radio".

Bluetooth all the way for me. I like having the USB port free for easy recharging for either myself or the passengers. I belong to Amazon Prime Music and download a ton of music into my offline library and can play it without using data.

I got a sandisk flash drive and loaded some files including mp3s and FLACs. I can see the mp3s in the menu sorted by artist/album etc but I don't see the FLAC files. Am I doing something wrong?
