WT all weather mats are great. I ski, and I'm always getting in the car with mud and snow. The mats will hold gallons of water. There fit perfectly. But my Gen 4 came with the same quality mats. Probably paid twice the price.
Installed them. I love that they cover the dead pedal. They literally fit like a glove. They come up super high in the sides....and look fantastic. These are a must.
I didn't see any for the rear. So are these better than the Toyota all-weather mats? Which I already bought...
If you already own the Toyota rubber mats and Cargo tray like I do then I would say stick with them until and if they ever wear out. No point in spending extra money for the weathertechs if you have the perfectly good toyota ones already which are actually quite nice and really do work very well!! They are much improved over the Gen3 rubber mats. I've owned both.. If you do not have the toyota rubber mats then the Weathertechs are absolutely a viable option and gives us another option when deciding. But just to confirm, only the front mats are available from weathertech? Weird if so as why would they not release a full set..??
Yes, the Toyota mats seem fine. Maybe a little more expensive. But by the time you buy the Weathertech rear mats, and the cargo mat, it will come out to nearly the same price as the Toyota set.
OK - a lot of opinions out there but only 1 person who has had both. Better quality, better coverage, fit better, and no chance of anything getting underneath. IMO, worthy of the purchase even if you have the OEM winter mats. I love that they ride extremely high on the sides.
Bought weathertech for my gen2 Prius, then they shipped matts made of butyl rubber, soft, friendly. Now it's hard plastic, yuck The butyl ones are in my gen4, soft, friendly
Soft rubber would be pointless when you have a puddle of melted snow on the mat. Soft rubber wears much more quickly. Typically the bottom of my shoes are made of rubber so no need for friendly mats. I want them to be strong....even if they means they are unfriendly
I nearly bought the Weathertech floor liners when I realized that they were only available for the front seats. My messy passenger (my 3 year old) sits in the back. No protection against that. So, I will stay for a wee bit longer with the all weather Prius Leaf mats. A real bargain at $95 if you ask me.
