The seats still fold 60/40 in the Prime.

Oh. Didn't know. It'd be interesting if Toyota gave us an option for 4 or 5 seats. Maybe the higher trim will the the comfy 4 seats. Then, everyone will be happy!

I'd be fine with no seats in back. The only one who rides back there is my dog. She is prone to toss her cookies within the first mile of travel and a flat floor would be ever so much easier to clean. I do use a doggie seat cover but.... still. I'd appreciate the cargo space. I tend to like to carry boxes and telescopes and musical instruments. I almost bought the Rav4 for that reason. I'm glad I didn't. The Rav4 hybrid seemed like a wimpy kluge and not thought out thoroughly.

I mean no disrespect, and don't mean to sound condescending, but how many of you have ever had 3 people in the back of your Prius? And were they comfortable? (And how tall were they?!)

Maybe I'm just jealous. I can't even begin to fit in the back of my Gen4, and I'm all alone! :ROFLMAO: (And no normal sized adult can sit behind me when I'm driving.)

I have a v, which I use predominately for cargo, but I have had 2 adults and a 10 year old back there. Most recently I carried 4 6th graders. The v is wider than a Liftback and perhaps taller. One assumes that taxi drivers get 3 adults who are desperate back there.

Yeah an option is probably a better way (or more likely, they'll just give us 5 seats and no 4-seat option)

I agree. Although the RAV4 Hybrid is a great car, why not buy a Prius V (especially when it get a redesign)? AWD and ground clearance? I'll bet 90% of RAV4 Hybrid drivers will never go off road or in the snow.

The Prime should have better head room. The back seat has no head space, especially with the sunroof.

I had considered the model v last year. But when the new 2017 model was announced with no changes to it, I figured they were going to give it up. Besides, I like the new car. I don't need to carry that much stuff most of the time. I'll find a work around for when I do.

Carry 3 people all the time. Usually there are no complaints especially if we are going from point a to b, even if it takes 4 hours. Good to drive coworkers too... I like the 5th seat option and nice to see the tesla model s have the 7 seat option!

The 6th and 7th seat in the Model S are for children only. They come with 5-point seatbelts and are limited in height and weight capacities.

Hah I know that. And some children might not want to ride there. But the options.. Versatility etc...

Prime is a prev gen volt with less ev range but a bit more backseat space (less trunk?) and better hybrid mpg... Tesla like screen but probably worse software on it.

Along with a much nicer heater, auto-detect venting, dynamic cruise, pedestrian safety, LED head & tail lights, drive-mode recharging, and higher MPGe.

In Japan, there's also the option of CHAdeMO charging and a 1500-watt inverter.

The dual-wave window in back is nice cosmetic stand-out with aero-dynamic benefit as well.

Solar Panels in Japan also...that effectively can bump the 22 Miles EV minimum figure to 25 Miles EV on a sunny day. Boy would I love to have the Solar Panel and not worry where I park in the city!

Scoring a parking spot that was avoided by others due to it being in direct sun would be a nice benefit.
