I test drove a 2014 prius 4 today from as a certified pre-owned from Toyota. Interior looks brand new, only a few finger nail scratches on the exterior that you can't see unless you use a magnifying glass. Mileage is about 22k, one owner from a lease. "Reduced" price is around $21500. Good deal? This is in Los Angeles..
Seems kinda high. I just picked up a 2013 Prius Persona with 13,800 miles for $15,900 + tax, tag and title. One owner, complete service records and it's in pristine condition, not even a single scratch inside or out. L
I ended up getting the "certified" 2014 P4 for 21k. It was about $500 more than I wanted BUT my old car was totaled by a big SUV and in the past 2 1/2 weeks there were only a few P4s with this one being the cleanest. Yes, certified only covers you for a year and probably is not needed for a rather reliable car like the Prius, but I wanted to get a Persona, but there were only 2 Personas available and they were 2013 models in a color I did not care for. Anyways I'm super happy about my car. It fits my yuppie liftstyle perfectly lol
