Finally made my purchase, got a good deal too! A few questions and observations

Also got mine yesterday. Prius Three Touring Sea Glass Pearl / Moonlight. I was reading this forum for months trying to decide with trim and color combo. But as my wife and I decided it had to be this specific combination, it was difficult to find in So Ca. I checked inventory of about 10 nearby dealers, and there was none. Finally got one from Dianne at Carson (she had to locate one for me and bring it from some other dealership). First impression - after all the readings how great the car was (I am coming from Gen 2 - 2007), it still surpassed my expectation. I did not think it would feel like a sports car. I also had reservation about 17" wheels on the terrible LA roads. No problem there! The ride very smooth.

One problem though. I have a real big phone - Lumia 1520 - 6". It does support wireless charging, but it seems to be just a bit bigger than the charging area, and no wireless charging for me. Not a very big deal. Maybe my next phone will work. Anyone else had this issue?

 

I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which has a 5.5 inch screen and in a case, it fits fine, and the wireless charging works. However, the wireless charging is sooo slow compared to charging from the mains at home. Not that useful for me, as my journeys are mostly <1 hour.

 

Is your edge 100% interoperable with the Prius system?

Is your Lumia 1520 working perfect with messaging with the Prius Navigational system display? Win 10 Phone?

 

In terms of using it for bluetooth calls, bluetooth internet tethering, sending & receiving SMSs, music apps display song info and changing tracks can be controlled from the steering wheel. Emails don't work as I don't have the top end entertainment system in my car.

 

This isn't considered a true dash cam if you are talking about a camera that continuously records your drive. But for a good windshield mounted no blocking of view camera I recently got a Sony AS100v and it works great and it is small. I will be doing a video on my youtube channel soon showing the set up. You can start and stop it from an iPhone and also see the view on the phone.

 

It does not work perfect. I am not even sure it works (or will work) after I come to read the Big Book. At the dealership the guy before letting us go, wanted to show how great the technology was. But he failed to transfer contacts or connect messages. The phone connected through Bluetooth, and this is good enough. I bet you with Windows Phone market share of 2% Toyota did not bother to

Today was transferring stuff from my old Gen 2 to the new 2016 Three Touring. Completely agree on the comment of 'huge lack of storage space'. Well, maybe we will be carrying less crap around . I am so happy there is a spare tire. Certain things I will miss from Gen 2. I was driving it today for the last time to Toyota dealership for some maintenance before giving it to a relative, and for the first time in 9 years I noticed how nice the steering wheel was. Everything about it: shape, leather, form, 4 spikes, size. I will also miss the leather seats, and 6 disk changer. I also will have to figure what to do with the trunk. That thing (don't know the name) like cover, with which the car came, is a joke. Need to get something similar to what I had in 2007.

 

Have to take it back. It looks it is charging. How fast or slow will remain to be seen

 

Yep, we kept the 2011 leather in the family.
