Today I went in to the dealer to get my free 10,000 mile oil change, car wash, and fix a rattle behind the c pillar where the seatbelt comes out (which I think they fixed because I couldn't hear it when I went for a test drive with the technician). The service guy told me that there is a new recall that was just released. He said it involved the parking assist (I'm assuming that mean't the self-parking feature, not the sensors). He had never seen it before, so I guess it just came out. I looked it up online and found nothing. I'm starting to think that it was a sensor adjustment (maybe so the parking assist is better calibrated?). Has anyone heard about this before?

That's according to the Toyota Owners site for my vehicle as of a few minutes ago. A TSB wouldn't fall into that category, though.

Did the dealer supposedly apply a fix to your car for the issue they mentioned? If so, the TSB number should appear in the service notes.

I used the park assist yesterday. It did it perfectly and so tight I could not believe it.
If there is a "recall" it has to be public. Not something said to you and not documented anywhere. It is not a "recall" as such then...

First of all - I am talking about parallel parking. Rear parking works really well and it does put me straight in the middle of the 2 cars, always.

In parallel parking, I had trouble at the beginning because I didn't notice that if the cars in front and back are not really aligned or of different sizes (width), IPA will not be able to align properly to them and will try to do the best it can, and that might result in the rear wheel being far away from the curb.
If the cars are properly aligned and of similar width, it parks perfectly and it manages really tight spaces, like it did yesterday. It will require a lot of manoeuvres from the IPA and the "Stop" sign will light up when the parking sensors are already well in the red zone and beeping constantly like crazy, but it does park it in safely. Wow.
And to get out, it will do so, automatically, in many small manoeuvres.
When you are shifting from D to R several times and pressing the brake to control motion, you wonder why didn't they automate the whole thing....? the car knows better than me what is the distance to the other cars, why leaving me to judge based on the loudness and insistence of the sensors beeps - likely due to liability... Pity.
But.... it still manages to park where by the looks of it, I would give up.... :)

They said they performed the fix. I don't notice anything different. It probably is on the TSB.

What does your paperwork say? Does it mention a TSB number?

The paperwork says "warranty campaign for the Prius Simple Parking Guidance System". There's no number. It might be just me, but the parking sensors/beepers seem less sensitive than before (maybe a little better calibrated too). The display next to the speedo shows exactly where I'm about to crash. Before it showed 3 different parts of the car at once.
I haven't heard the rattle since! The technician said they moved some plastic pieces around. This was before we went for a test drive with him. We didn't hear the rattle.:) It's weird because my gen 2 has a rattle in the exact spot, but louder.

I got this notice on the recall tab of the Toyota Owners App. There was more detail on the second page but I can't post a photo as it contains my VIN.

Hmm. Would love to know more details, but now we know it's a LSC and not a TSB. Not all cars with the system are affected, like mine. I wonder what the exact criteria is.

I had my 20k service this morning. The service writer alerted me to this before I had a chance to ask. Work took a while, but all my mileage history was retained, so I am happy.

Working on an iPad? If the VIN is near the top edge of the image (for example), maybe you can just choose Edit, then Crop the top a bit?

If you have a Windows computer you can email the image to, there's a rudimentary editting tool built in: the Windows Snipping Tool will allow you take a snapshot of the image, and then mark it. I think you could just use the marking tool to scribble out the VIN.

Whatever's current in the Snipping Tool is automatically in Clipboard, which you can paste into a PriusChat edit window: position the cursor where you want it and type <ctrl> V to insert whatever's in Clipboard.

    Good tip, ML.

Here is a cropped screen shot:

The (no charge) dealer invoice showed:

That interesting. I downloaded the APP and put in my Vin# yesterday, and no recall noticed showed for mine. I wouldn't think (what they described) would be that Vin# (or model) specific.

I just installed the app on my phone and logged in.
Funny that I don't have a recall on the APC on my new Prius.

But ... it said I do have a recall on the side curtain airbags for my 2010 Prius!

The app shows that I don't have any recalls because I got the recall fixed.

I received my notice last week. Will get the software updated when I go in for my 15,000 mile checkup.
