So why can't Toyota make the Toyota vehicles quiet, like a Lexus? I'd be willing to pay a little more for a quieter Prius.

I never thought anybody would do "Mods" to a Prius. And I never thought young guys would even buy a Prius. Guess I was wrong. And they do a good job.

In my area, I only see young chicks driving a Prius.... (and ME, the retired old man.)

I think they are but it will take more time for them to do that. It all about Money. I do agreed with your comment. Wish they do that too. They making the car look different every 4 yr . From now on it will look feel better.

Actually they are quieter than the stock Toyo's that were on there before. :)

I am still torn between wrapping the roof or not. I like the look, but then again I also don't want to be too fake either. The Two has no moonroof etc.....so once someone looks inside and sees what's going on it would be just be weird I guess.

This member added the wrap, but he has a stock moonroof.

I was very seriously considering getting the black gloss roof wrap done on mine, but have decided not to do so based on the advice of my "wrap artist" professional.

He explained that while it would look great initially, it would quickly show lots of scratches, and that this is a common problem with dark, solid-color gloss wraps in general. A matte-finished black wrap would be no problem in regard to this issue, but then it wouldn't match the gloss black roof band and C-pillars. So if you do go with a black gloss wrap, be aware that you'll need to clean it very carefully, and even then be ready to re-wrap it every few years (!).

YMMV of course, but he knows his stuff so I'm putting that $ elsewhere in the car.

I really appreciate that! I have decided against it based on this info. It makes sense and although I would LOVE for it to look better I would hate to keep wrapping it and see the scratches build up over time.

I feel the same way, love the look but the downside potential makes me reluctant.

In a sorta parallel way, I'm struggling with dropping the car 1" by going with the Tanabe NF210 lowering springs; both my wrap-guy and my heart say yes, but OTOH my Wife says no, your knees and she both won't like it, don't lower this like your M3. It works fine (better?) at the stock height but would look sooo much better an inch lower...we'll see.

    Rims n' rubber:

    Window tint, clear front wrap:

    LED bulbs:

T10 LED lamp replacements for interior: map, vanity, puddle, cargo
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YYOLDGI

30mm Festoon LED: dome light (Amazon's fitment says it doesn't fit the 2016 Prius, but it fits mine...)
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NOZ5C2
    Side window visors:

JDM VIP low Profile Window Visor Vent Shade w/Clips (via ebay)

2016 Prius Rear Bumper Protector - OEM (via Priuschat Shop)

Vortex generators, x8, by Sickspeed (made for the Venza, but work perfectly on the Prius):

Stuff I have, but yet to install:
    • EU-spec OEM mudguards (need to pre-wrap the wheel well edges first before installation), via ebay
    • Stebel mini air-horn (still fabricating a mounting bracket adapter)
    • LED turn signal bulbs, via PriusChat Shop (still obtaining the correct LED Flasher before installing, to prevent hyperflash)
    • OEM Fog Lights. I already have the actual fog light assemblies; I'm now working with my Parts Guy at the local Toyota dealer to put together a package/kit for OEM fog light installation (it's nearly ready; I'll post the info in the fog light thread, when it's available)
The car is getting better and better... (y)

Well I had my old Personas roof wrapped in the gloss Vinyl and took it through the automatic (not touch less) car wash weekly and it always looked great even after a full year of ownership before I traded it in!! So there is that...

I usually used some tire shine and a microfiber towell to shine up the wrap... Worked amazingly and you would not believe the compliments people gave me. They all thought it was a glass roof, including the salesman when I traded it in. Lol.

Just some friendly info from someone that actually owned a car with it done..

One piece of advice is to try not to park under trees that give off lots of dropping or leaves, etc...

    This member had it painted:

That's really good to know! I wonder if it is a film-brand specific thing (being especially scratch-prone)? I'll also ask if if he knew about using a tire-shine on it. Do you recall what brand and film grade was used on yours? Also, what brand of tire shine? Could be a winning, specific combination of the two. It would be really nice to be able to do the wrap and be confident it can be kept looking good!

That's good advice and reminder, to avoid tree sap, leaves and bird crap as with any auto finish. I'll add to stay well clear of evergreens, pine and cedar trees in particular - the sap is awful enough but the needles are notorious for clogging the cowling air intakes on Toyotas.

What really worries me is the snow we get. I clean the snow off of the roof often, scratches?

I heard Avery Dennison makes the best wraps.

How did it look without tire shine?

Mine sits out in the 110 degree heat every day and looks like it did when it was installed 6 months ago. And I wash it once a week. I do use a spray wax on it pretty often.
