I have a black and white theme going with my 2016 Blizzard Pearl Four. I saw this JDM black and white shifter on a Japanese shopping site and had to have it! The issue is of course that it relects the right hand drive shifting pattern.
I do think that it acts as a theft deterrent - unless the thief is a Prius driver, they may not be able to find "drive".

My brother swapped the grips on his handlebars on his motorcycle, you now had to roll the left grip away from you for gas, while feathering the clutch with your right hand. The front drum brake was left handed.

No one who had ever ridden before could ride it, but you could teach new riders.

So only newbies will be confused by a backward pattern, the owners don't read the instructions any more.

I believe that all Prii are 6 x 1mm threads for the shifter. It should fit nicely.

p.s. I added a link to more black and white knobs from the same seller in my previous post, but they don't have the shift pattern on it.

I ordered the white ball with the "proper" transmission symbols - I get it on Saturday.

I love the plain shifters with the blue LED light up, but it's not clear to me how these get power? Anyone have one that is touch activated? Is it a battery?

I like how you went with a yellow light in the "park" indicator to match the letters of your license plate, but a white light might woulld have been good also.

I had a friend whose old Ford Fairlane would only start in "REVERSE", as the shifter was out of adjustment - someone tried to steal it, but couldn't get it started. He decided that he'd leave it out of adjustment.
EDIT - [Woops - I should have said it was an auto, and the engine wouldn't start in P or N - only R.]

My 1962 Ford Falcon with 3 on the tree, had a similar failure, you had to go under the car to change sides of the H pattern. You only had R and 2, or you could have 1 and 3. If you drove it in town as I did, R and 2 was the better side of the H. But you certainly knew you were not in first when trying to start moving.

On the highway, 1 and 3 was a better choice.

The correct shift pattern is displayed right there on the dash, isn't it? ;)

Yes. But I don't think most people would look there if the pattern is on the knob.
