Basically, I'm in the market for a new car, and seriously considering a Prius, but I'm wondering if I should wait or go with the 2016. I don't expect a big difference in features, but from what little info I could find (Anything I Google just comes up with Prius Prime info) there is a decent change of new colors. And I REALLY like the dark green on the Prius V, so I'm trying to decide if it is worth waiting (and hoping my current car lasts) for the 2017s. Anyone have an estimate of when they usually get announced?

Car and Driver Sept issue, just out, says minor trim changes for Prius C, no changes for The regular Prius or the Prius V. Also no changes for Camry, Avalon and Rav4 Hybrids. The Highlander gets a mid cycle refresh. No release dates given.

That doesn't preclude new color offerings for the Prius but I guess not likely.

Ah, bummer...Really like that green! Feels like they're taunting me with it!
Thanks for both your responses. And yeah, the discounts are tempting, but honestly, I like that green so much more than the available colors, I I think I'd have been willing to wait and pay more for the 2017 for it. Vain, I guess, but the current colors just don't do it for me.

I saw a list of new features in the rav4world forum for the 2017 Toyota models. While color changes were indicated for the Rav, none were included for the Prius. There will be a 1.4% increase in price from what I recall. All Prius trim levels should include the TSS features but exclude the cross traffic alert, parking assist, and the object sonar. I wish I would have saved the link.... but I'm a dolt sometimes. ;)

Search around to see if you can find the right '16 Prius while taking advantage of Toyota's latest incentives - $2k cash rebate or 0% for 72 months. All the remaining '16 Prius vehicles should have been released from the port by now. If you can't find the precise one you can live with and be happy with, then feel free to have your dealer locate you a 2017 when the allocations open up...

    All the best.

Ahh, yeah, they added the green to the RAV4 but not the Prius! Oh well...
Thanks all. Looks like 2016 is definitely the way to go.
