I am getting a UHaul hitch installed next week if that counts! A hitch + install for only $190 (no wiring).
Detailed the inside yesterday and noticed the floor mats are very thin, low quality. The one on the driver's side already has a snag in it. I've only had the car since June 25. Was going to wash & wax it today but knew it was supposed to rain so postponed until tomorrow or Thursday.
Today I turned off the Eco Monitor screen at the top of the dashboard. I find those dancing lines to be more distracting, than helpful. I replaced it with the Compass that has the street name/speed limit. (And yes, Kim, the carpet floor mats are thin and not the best quality. I put the rubber "all weather" mats right on top of them. And even the rubber ones are pretty thin.)
I have that top middle screen set on the boring compass. Yes, I've caught myself taking my eyes off the road several times, and that's not good. I kept staring at the Hybrid monitor and trying to improve my "score." Or I was adjusting the Nav screen. Checking the weather page. Scrolling thru all the MPG and Eco display screens. Or flipping thru a long list of fast-food joints... There's a lot of toys there. (I don't do many phone calls or texting, so my cell is not hooked up. Thankfully.)
I would just worry about damaging my car...... I don't have any worries about a bike rack but hauling a big trailer seems risky for that engine.
I put on OEM side moldings a couple of days ago and gave her a first wash.....going to install a harness next week allowing my OEM camera and Pioneer SPH-DA120 deck for backup cam. Excited for that considering the limited sight lines backing up in this car.
I would worry about the transmission or the entire chassis going KURPLUNK and the rear axle falls off onto the freeway. I saw that happen once when a mail van went over a speed bump. The rear was on the pavement with the rear axle and wheels right behind.
I touched my knob and I liked it. Toyota added a soft and grippy rubber to the underside of the knob. Lots of subtle enhancements in the cabin! Also ordered some factory accessories. 2017 Prius shift knob by CoolPrius posted Jul 29, 2017 at 8:41 AM
Test fit new cup holders I got off eBay. Looks like they will work great. Going to get the windows tinted this weekend so will wait to install. Coolprius9 by CoolPrius posted Jul 30, 2017 at 2:54 PM
Those might work really well! When you get a drink at a fast food place it might keep the cup from forming condensation with the air blowing on it.
Just drove home Prius number two and parked it next to Prius number 1. 2017 3 with sunroof. Sea glass pearl. Ordered hitch, trailer light harness and vent visors. Prius number 1 has towed my small camper that was designed for a motorcycle to pull for over 35k miles without issues. The new one will have 12k miles on it with said trailer behind it by sept 20. And no the transmission won't melt, rear axles suddenly go flying out from under the car, or magnetic poles shift because I'm towing something with my Prius.
