    I need to replace the caliper.
    I believe It is seized.
    I've replaced pads, as well as caliper bracket (old one pins were seized).
    Replaced pins....still major brake drag

    Outside its that misaligned pad pin I mentioned? It'll cause terrific drag.

    I checked caliper piston alignment, but I'll check again.

    Isn't one of your videos about bleeding brake system by putting car in "invalid mode"? You opened the system (at the bleeder valve). I would be opening system at line. Don't know if the car sees that differently

    what"s it good for (besides bleeding)?

    FYI -
    I replaced a rear caliper. After that, putting the car in "invalid mode" I was able to bleed brakes like a normal car. Thanks again!

    Invalid mode is basically used for brake bleeding only, I don't see any other use for it because it disables the electrical brake system so you can manually bleed the brakes. Like Jimi1976 said, he used it to bleed the brakes after replacing the caliper. Just think of that mode as a mode to convert your hybrid into a conventional car during that setting. I hope that helps?

    yes it does. but, didn't you say in the video that electric brake pump is activated while bleeding rear brakes?

    Yes, the hydrualic brake system still works but the the brake system, such as the ABS, the regenerative braking system and brake assist and such is inactive. So that's why you're able to bleed the brakes.

    What I take from the video: the pump actually works great with the rear brakes: allowing you to change a lot of fluid quickly.

    Here's something easy for you to do, its just the PIPE, but we'll look more into the EGR valve itself later on...

    Thanks NutsAboutBolts for creating the DIY videos and Tideland Prius for putting them together. I've owed my 2013 model 4 for 10 months now and have tackled the oil change twice, the transmission fluid change once, the air filter once, and the cabin filter once. Your videos have made performing these tasks a lot easier. Thanks again! ;)

    Thank you so much for your vid on Spark Plug replacement! Saved us $250 from the dealer and a lot of shouting on my end(lol, I didn't think I'd need to take the wiper arms/motor/tray off).

    My wife just went in for service on her 2010 Prius 5 and they said she would need a left axle seal replaced at the cost of nearly $500. I'm assuming a big chunk of this is labor. Do you know of any DIY write-ups on this? I did a Google and forum search and couldn't find anything. All I found was another poor sap who got sucked into the dealer charging for this which is probably not too hard of a repair, just time consuming and messy.

    Have you done it before though? And if so, how long does it usually take? Based on what they're charging I'm assuming a 5-6hr job.

    We haven't done one on a Prius before, but we've done it on other Toyota vehicles before...
