this website has gone ballistic.

I'd never seen this until yesterday night - now seeing it quite frequently (just popped up while typing this!). Refreshing page a few times usually gets it back, but something has definitely got worse!

Same problem, on page loads and even between page loads. Copy message or compose in another window, paste until it goes through...

 

Just joined this Forum a month or so ago and finding the above message too much to deal with as it frustrates my attempt to participate to the point I am looking for an alternate place to share my joys of being a Prius owner and to find out what other owners are experiencing with their own cars.
Got it as I attempted to post this message.

 

I've been getting there database errors as well. Very annoying.

It appears to be related to authentication; perhaps that server validating login status is overloaded.

I'm getting this message frequently.
Along with having to wait and attempt posting a response maybe 2-3 times before it actually takes.
I get an annoying grey action bar, upper right corner, and it usually results in my having to try several times to get my post to appear.

Seems to of started happening the past 1-2 weeks. Not something that use to happen. NOT happening at any other website.

 

Well at least it's NOT just me.
I find it hard to believe it has anything to do with usage levels. As Prius Chat has been popular for as long as I've known. There's always been a lot of visitors, users and members and this has never happened before.

 

I too get the database error just about everytime I attempt to post from the web or Tapatalk. Seems like some maintenance is in order, but I'm lovin the site and all of the participants! J

And now there's certificate issues with the XenForo styles.

On the image at https://styles.priuschat.com/uix/xenforo/avatars/avatar_l.png, I'm getting served a certificate issued by Internet Widgits Pty, that my browser (Vivaldi) isn't trusting, and expired on February 22, 2013.

This is in addition to an extreme increase in database errors, but I suspect that's unrelated. (Unless it's a certificate issue between the web server and database server or something? And why would that be intermittent?)

Edit: Interesting, my phone goes through Cloudflare. Is that what's going on, a Cloudflare configuration issue or something?

Edit 2: And, when getting the "An unexpected database error occurred. Please try again later." error, if you view source, you'll get the underlying error in a comment - "MySQL server has gone away". So, the issue's somewhere here: MySQL :: MySQL 5.7 Reference Manual :: B.5.2.9 MySQL server has gone away

Actually you are clearly have way more knowledge than me in this area. Glad to know there are people out there like you that know this stuff. It's way beyond me.

It's worth noting that there's not a thing we can do about it, but the bit about the certificate errors may be very useful for Danny. He probably already knows about the MySQL issue.

Prius Chat is definitely going down hill fast. Hate to see this as it is a wealth of information for many.

 

It hasn't been deleted, there's a certificate error on the server that the image is being hosted from (attachments.priuschat.com), so your browser is refusing to load the image.
