Can someone with a Gen 4 do me a favor?

I think she means how high from the floor up. Maybe whomever may be driving the car can't lift their leg but so high.

 

Well, being that I wear a size 13 shoe...............................

 

My first car was a 1937 Austin 7 - I was taught not to rest my foot on the pedal because it would cause wear on the clutch. So I guess that I just plonk my foot on the floor - I never use the dead pedal.

 

Referring to that pic? Don't forget the body of the tape measure, will add at least 2", more typically 2.5".

(When shopping tape measures, look for one where the body is some simple-to-add number, if possible.)

 

Compared to a Gen 2, the Gen 4 has a more room for the driver, plus the seat can go up and down.

 

That's one of the first things I tested when I stuffed my 6'-4" frame into the new Prius for the first time... Where are my big feet gonna go? I also have a size 13 shoe. It fits fine on the dead pedal. Luckily, there are no low-hanging plastic parts to get in the way. (Surprisingly, I also fit pretty well inside a Prius c.)

 

Looks like the inner wheel arch gets in the way for your US cars. The UK right hand drive version has nothing (except the parking brake) above the dead pedal as it sits next to the centre console, so the ball of my foot sits on the top of it and my size 11 (US 12) toes stick out above it.

 

However, you're going to have wheel arch interference issues with the accelerator pedal, instead.

So, six of one, half dozen of the other.

In any case, I wear US size 12 shoes, and my foot rests on the dead pedal, under the parking brake pedal, well enough. It's more comfortable than my Miata's dead pedal...
