Can anyone tell me the difference between the capabilities of the head unit, including app suite and nav if any, from what comes on the Prius 4 and the Prius 4 with PCP? I know you get more speakers and a more powerful amplifier, but is there any other difference. For those that have tried it, is it worth the difference in added cost of PCP? Thx, J

I was on the fence about the Premium Convenience Package - regarding the Entune Premium JBL Audio with Integrated Navigator. As far as I could determine, there is no difference with App Suite or Nav. Like you sa, it's the 10 Speakers, 423 Watt Amp... and that's it. Now I sat in both cars (before I bought) and listened to both audio systems extensively... and clearly the system in the PCP was superior. Now, audio is important to me. But I could never find another Nav or App function that was any different.

Also the Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) was something that (at first) I don't think I cared about. Now I'm so glad I got it! Useful every day! For that ALONE I would do it again.

So back to PCP: the ICS and the JBL upgrade only - were very much worth it to me. I could care less about Safety Connect.

    Hope that helps.

Thanks PriUncut. My problem is not deciding, I desperately want both ATP and PCP, but six to eight dealers around my area have tried to locate one and they just aren't available. I thought I had an order in since March, but the salesman admitted this morning that his idea of an order was waiting to find one destined for another dealer and to divert it to his dealership. Slightly misleading to say the least in calling it an order. J

Can you tell me a bit more about how you use ICS everyday? Thx, J

Can you provide some details on why ICS is important and used everyday? Thx, J

Pulling in to the garage. Backing out down a long curvy driveway. In shopping centers. Sure you have some other warning systems without ICS. But I feel more fully covered and confident. It's picking up cars approaching behind me, well before I see them in the rear view camera.

The sensors detect all sorts of obstacles in front, rear or the sides. Pulling in my garage I just keep rolling forward and let the car break for me! Often I think, wow I just hit the cabinet in front of the car. But no, it stops me at the same distance every time.

I've had no problem in drive-through take-out lines. It might beep to make me more aware of a pole (while turning in the line). But nothing annoying. It's not constantly going off. Only when I really need to be aware of something.

I never would have guessed it would be so useful. Now, I can't imagine being without it. But if I hadn't got it... I still probably wouldn't have known what I was missing. How's that for a flip flop.

Seriously, I really LOVE it and would have always wondered... hmmm, maybe I should have got it?

So there. I hope helps more than it hinders your decision. Sucks the inventory availability varies so much by region. I hope your order gets sorted out. Best of luck!

Thanks so much PriUncut. I may just start calling dealers well outside my area and see if I can find the car I want, fly out and drive it back. J

According to the online brochure, all 2016 Prii except the Two and Two Eco come with Entune Premium. The PCP package adds the JBL speakers.

When I was shopping in Northern California in February and March, I noticed that one could not get both the ATP and PCP packages on the Four--I believe you get one or the other. However, I noticed that the Four Touring included in its base the Toyota Safety Sense features on the ATP package, missing only the Moonroof and HUD (Heads up Display). So, I eventually ended up with the Four Touring with the PCP package added.

I believe they all have JBL speakers. Only non-PCP only have 6 speakers, and a lower power output amp. The PCP gets you 10 JBL speakers (some in the same location as non-PCP), plus a 423 watts amp to drive those speakers.
See this for more details: Sites-JB-US-Site

Yeah, basically it's the screwy way Toyota breaks out the packages. Once your up to a THREE Touring or FOUR Touring, then most of the ATP features are included (other than Moonroof and HUD). I quickly got over the Moonroof... I can count on two hands the number of times I've use them in other cars. Plus my sense is the non-Moonroof car is slightly quieter. The HUD, I'm okay without. Everything I need is a few inches lower to the right.

As others have stated... it is too bad Toyota doesn't let you get this car full loaded to "have it your way". But then this is not Burger King.

I'm in the southeast, so when I wanted to order my 4 with PCP & ATP I looked it up in the Toyota website which took me to the www.set.buyatoyota.com site. (This site is for NC, SC, GA, AL and FL) I found exactly the color combo, level and package I wanted. Told my dealer salesman and he intercepted the car in transit to another dealer.

There now seems to be a lot of cars in the southeast region that have those packages. You could order it directly from another dealer or have your local dealer do it for you.

By the way, the ICS system is great. I really love it. When I'm pulling into the garage it shows me exactly how close I am to all the walls and other car. I've recently been cleaning and re-organizing my garage. After I was done I was pulling the car back in, but had left out a large toolbox on the floor. It was below my line of site so when the beepers went off, I just thought it was warning me about the wall proximity. I kept going and all of a sudden I got the giant red BRAKE! message on the screen and the car slammed on the brakes. I thought wth? and got out to look. ICS had just saved me from a big ugly gash on my new car!
    Well worth it!

Nope. JBL-branded speakers (The GreenEdge type) is only on the PCP. All other models use some other brand (Alpine? Pioneer? wherever Toyota sources their standard speakers)

    Really. Then I am mistaken.

What is the source of this information?

I guess that would mean no JBL logo on the front dash speak grills?

By the way, I found the reflection from the JBL orange logo on the windshield to be annoying and distracting. I covered it with gaffer's tape.

    So much for advertising!

Mine? no source lol. It's just been the way Toyota (and most manufacturers with optional brand-name stereos) have offered their vehicles.

Basically, yeah, no JBL logo (oddly enough, the Gen 3 is the only one without the JBL logos on the speakers. There was a JBL decal on the head unit)

Thank you thank you thank you Jim in NC. Went on that site tonight and they had many 4's with atp and pcp in my color choices.

Chatted with the folks and their going to have a salesman contact me tomorrow to arrange for one of them to be moved to Roanoke VA for me. Only 200 miles drive. Seems like the southeast region has their act together. J

After three days from initial call and a follow up chat still no call as promised though, I believe I found one which will be confirmed by a dealer in the northeast tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed for me guys!
