    I may just be paranoid, because the car has continued to drive as i said over now over a year. but i just also wanna take the proper precautions seeing that it is almost a 10 year old car with 170,000 miles on it so if i decide to keep it i can get it to my 250k mark.

    1. You need to clean the traction battery fan at minimum, or replace it if it is not working. That is the meaning of P0A82.
    2. The 12V battery is probably marginal. C2318 is reporting low voltage.
    3. You probably need to replace the engine given the excessive oil consumption.
    4. You already know the catalytic converter needs to be replaced, that is the meaning of P0420.

    The 212x codes means the "No Signal from Transmitter Idx in Main Mode", which is interesting as the TPMS section shows a pressure for 2 of the 4 sensors. But in any case, these are the least of your worries for now.

    All the other codes have freeze frame data that could contain sub-code that my be useful.

    P3000 = HV Battery Malfunction
    P0A82 = Hybrid Battery Pack Cooling Fan 1
    P0420 = Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)

    I don't have any information about the P2318, but Patrick Wong contributed to This Tread in relation to DTC P2318.

    based on the above two posts, here is my guess. traction battery fan got dirty or failed and HV overheated and/or is of marginal health. engine oil consumption killed the converter cat. joys of high mileage used (neglected) prius. new 12V battery should be an easy fix.

    Yes I have been googling the codes and starting with checking the fan and the 12v battery resetting codes and seeing if anything comes on. Im just wondering what I need to do to make this dang red triangle to turn off. Sorry guys I am a newb with this but learning fast. Thanks to the recommendation of JC I will be buying a mini vci cable and should best testing/diagnosing and repairs my own prius very soon. :) Thank you everyone for all your help in the meantime.

    You actually need to fix some of the car's problems, for example the traction battery fan.

    can you place some electrical tape over the triangle so you won't see it?

    So whenever any error codes come on the red triangle comes on? I thought it was for a certain set of error codes. does anyone know what the red triangle means exactly? I've yet to find a conclusive definition.

    Should I take my car to the Toyota Dealer to have the tape installed? ;)

    The red triangle is like a big red stop sign, it's suppose to get your attention that something is wrong with your car. Keep driving it and it could do damage if you don't fix the problem. Minor errors will not trigger that triangle

    The red triangle is called the master warning light. When it comes on, your car has at least one problem. That problem must be determined by noticing the other warning lights/messages/icons that appear and reading the DTC.

    It is possible for your car to have a problem without the red triangle coming on. For example, if the engine ECU has logged an issue (like the catalytic converter is not functional) the check engine light will come on but the red triangle will not.

    If your car has a problem with the hybrid drivetrain (like the traction battery fan) then the red triangle light will come on as well as the warning icon in the upper left corner of the MFD.

    Since your car has multiple problems, you should not be surprised that multiple warnings have appeared.

    why would the red triangle not come on in the instance of the catalytic converter failure? i was also told the red triangle was a service light to put more oil, I'm guessing that is incorrect as well. my car has been driving for a year and a half, literally almost the whole time I've owned it with the red triangle on. anybody else every been in a similar situation?
