    Hello,

I have a 2010 Altima hybrid and want to get something newer with all the bells and whistles. I am looking at the sonata/fusion hybrid and prius or the volt (space is issue). Although the sonata/fusion are larger, prius size is good enough for me. The mileage is plus for prius but it is not that big of a deal. One of my biggest issues is with the NVH levels. I drive a lot including some incline and most of the time I am on phone over BT with my colleagues/customers. I don't want to constantly shout. Can you guys share your opinion on noise levels?

    Thanks

No problem with the noise level in my 2010 when on the phone.

Why not consider a Camry or Avalon Hybrid, you can get a lot of bells and whistles....

In Munpot's defense, the Avalon Hybrid and Camry Hybrid are very quiet. Additionally, he said he wanted all the bells and whistles.

Well, Gen4 2016 Prius is supposed to be much quieter than prior Prii.

Just curious why you classify Sonata and Fusion as the same? I can understand Sonata/Optima (because they are essentially the same) but Fusion is Ford.

even gen 4 prius is likely to be louder than mid size cars like hycam, hyava, hyfus or hyson. take a test drive i guess.

Thanks for the inputs. I did test drive the Fusion and Sonata yesterday. I felt the had lower road noise maybe because of the active noise cancellation and it felt more "refined". I do want Adaptive cruise, Lane assist/warning, park sensors. else there is no point in moving from my 2010 altima hybrid.
I have yet to try the prius. Got too late yesterday. I will try the camry also. Online reviews don't seem to give camry hybrid high marks. The Accord hybrid is supposed to be the best but who knows when it comess.

The only comment I'm going to allow myself here, because I'm afraid of my own potential prejudice as a Prius owner, is that it seems to me the OP's concerns should be easily quantifiable.

A rental would let you know in just a day or 2, whether your concerns were deal breakers or deal makers. But even a few repeated good long test drives of all your choices, would probably give you a good base to make a decision. Just don't listen to the salesman who is going to tell you exactly what he thinks you want to hear.

I don't own a Gen 4 Prius, so cannot speak to noise levels. I have read that it is an area Toyota tried to improve.

Love my HyCam as well. Very quiet. Use BT all the time and no issues with road noise.

Don't have the solution to your car choices, but this will fix any noise problem you might have. My son drives a truck and can talk with the window down and I don't hear anything but his voice.

Sonata interior layout was not quite right and no fold down seats.

But a good choice if you like it.

Camry is a very practical car but no hauling space.

I want a Sedan Deville hatchback built by Prius in Japan/all aluminum.

I think you should take a look at the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid. It got fairly good marks, especially compared to the Camry, Sonata, etc.

If you mean the Malibu, I see 4 within 20 miles of me at three different dealers.
