Prius 'Delivery July'

Ahh - thanks, Thomas, it's not on the brochure (that I can find). I don't know why no Auto Park is offered in Australia - I've emailed TOYOTA - I suspect that after all this time, they're not going to bother responding.

I still haven't seen any other than white - I've found 4 in various parts of Brisbane in dealerships, all base model, all white, and there's another white in Noosa, and there was a white in Ipswich must have been sold, as it's no longer on their website. The 4 at the Gold Coast were Gen 3, but with Gen 4 photos on the website. The dealer only a few streets from where I live me last week or so that they're not expecting any for another month - hopefully not white.

I guess someone told Toyota in Japan that Australians only buy white cars! Glad we grabbed ours when we did.

I think only 800-odd Prii were sold in Aus last year, so our market isn't really a priority. Still, one sees quite a few around Melbourne.

I drove my brother's sporty Commodore today and it certainly feels clunky compared to the Prius (and not as zippy)!

 

In Germany according to this article, only 561 Prius were sold here.

And they say that most of them might have been Taxis.

I tend to differ though, because all the taxis here are Prius v/+/alpha and not regular Prius models. And there are quite a few Auris Hybrids, which have a design that is more conventional and that possibly EU drivers like more (I personally don't like it at all, especially the dashboard - The Auris Touring Sports is cool though ).

 

I guess I'll be stalking ebay. De or other left hand drive markets for the boomerang LED headlights that in didn't get.
Was hoping there would be a mod or write up to enable those on ones that were not active from factory. Might even just be a missing light bulb or switching one connector over to activate.

Looking good. I wasn't sure when I first saw photos of the Gen4 Prius but now having seen one in real life and seeing yours, I'm starting to like it, particularly from the front in red or blue.

There's a blog showing a blue one with black wheel trims that looks good too. Unfortunately I can't link to it being a new member but try googling "toyota prius towing blog" Not sure the chrome front light surround works although I like the chrome detailing on the side and the blue with black wheels is a great combination.

Yours is the first UK picture I've seen with 15" wheels. Are they standard alloys or is there a cover over an alloy wheel?

 

Wonder how much real leather is?

 

They are covers - here's a photo - it looks like the alloys underneath are silver, but they are on quite tight and I didn't want to try ripping them off!

 

It won't break. Hold in between spokes using two hands and pull.

The dealer called me yesterday that they received the car. They will deliver it to me next Friday

I ordered mid-March.

 

So, assuming same delivery time for the whole of the EU, mine should be here soon. Ordered on March 21st.
Considering the fact that last week my dealer said he knew nothing, either he is lying or my order is lost or was never accepted, since I ordered with IPA and Toyota.de website does not show it as an option and not even the PDF price list shows it.
I honestly have a bad feeling about this. But like to be surprised.

 

Maybe they're still mixing your RED paint?

 

Maybe they used all the red paint when they did mine...

 

My order is on a dark grey one.
The whole red thing is an option I gave the dealer in case he saw one and wanted to sell that first.
But yes, probably they already finished all the red paint for the launch ones and the one of Colin

The news article is from 2011. I would hope a new source of the pigment has been found.

 

Ordered my Hypersonic red early March, got it last week.
2 months earlier than the original delivery date of mid July.

 

I am jealous - I also ordered Red in March, and was given delivery dates of June and then July. Sounds like there is hope for me yet!

 

Sounds there is hope for both of us...! unless they have given them cars meant for Japan, whereas it is unlikely they share some cars meant for the USA with us
