Welcome to the San Diego Prius Group. This section of PriusChat provides a location where members can talk about Prius sightings, dealer experiences, modifications, events in San Diego and just plain have a place to exchange info. Only those people who sign up for this group can see the messages posted here. Also, if you use the "View posts since last visit" function, you will see the posts from this group but people not registered will not. If you have any questions about the Prius or the Prius Club of San Diego, please do not hesitate to post them here or contact the Club by e-mail at The Club meets on Sundays approximately every other month at various locations for lunch.
Well I sent in my membership dues, and now patiently waiting to hear something/anything. Does this club really exist? When's the next get-together? I'd like to meet the group and compare notes/stories/hopes and dreams B)
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jmccord @ Apr 14 2006, 12:21 AM) </div> Apparently a few of us are going to participate in Earth Day in Balboa Park on Sunday, April 23 but I'm still waiting to hear from Sev MacPete.
Well, I would enjoy getting together with other Prius owners, but the "San Diego Club" looks like a dead end. The membership dues check I sent in was never cashed. The phone message I left was never returned. And this thread is pathetic. What gives?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jmccord @ Jun 18 2006, 09:22 PM) </div> Well, Sev MacPete is organizing mostly because no one else was interested in the job. There is a list of members and contacts. You are welcome to contact Sev and volunteer to organize get togethers and contact people. It does take a little time and all involved do have regular jobs. There has been some talk of combining with other local groups, perhaps creating a Hybrid Club of San Diego, mostly due to small attendance and interest. You can try e-mailing Sev from here: PriusclubSD His phone number and e-mail are on the bottom of the page.

Ok, ok, ok. I guess I owe the San Diego Club an apology. I went to the meeting today, and not only does the club exist, but as expected, they proved to be a great group of like-minded Prius people. Thanks to Zev and the rest for putting together a successful meeting. Looking forward to seeing you all again in September.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(jmccord @ Jul 23 2006, 09:30 PM) </div> Glad you could make it. I was at ComicCon (hey, I paid for full membership last year), so I was unable to attend. They had a Toyota at one of the displays, but it was a Yaris. I would like the club to do a long road trip to the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA, which is having an exhibit on alternative power. That runs until October 15th.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Jul 23 2006, 11:55 PM) </div> Way too much happening this weekend. The Petersen also had the new Tesla on display this weekend. Today was the last day. But I went to the Prius club instead. There will be a meeting on September 10 at the Officer's club at MCRD to hear Dave Hermance of Toyota, so I don't know if there will be another meeting to go to the Petersen before the show closes. But I for one do want to go. Whether it is a meeting or not. If the Tesla ever comes back to the Petersen, that is when I would want to go. (I wonder if there EV1 is on display for the show?)

Hi!! Welcome to Priuschat! If the San Diego Club is no longer around, and you don't mind to drive, we sometimes have meets in Orange County. There is also a group of us that meet and who like modifying our Prii. We usually meet at least every other month if not monthly. Keep an eye out in this section for Prius events. Enjoy your car and keep following on Priuschat!
