I remember it being a bit floppy when I checked under the hood prior to the mrs signing for the Prius last week.

Anyone know how to get this part re- attached? Seems like the threaded side pushes and locks down into plastic hole ? uploadfromtaptalk1461118402287.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1461118411539.jpg

That is a warranty problem. If you can wait, have them fix it on the first oil change. FYI, I recommend the first engine and transaxle oil change at 5k miles to get any left over and early manufacturing debris and wear particles out.

If you do get the transaxle oil changed, take a clean, dry, water bottle and ask for 1 cup of the old oil. I'll have it analyzed and share the results. I did this with our Gen-3 and it was an eye opener. I have no interest in engine oil.

    GOOD LUCK!

Wow, another argument with the dealer on the tranny drain and fill. Dread it already.

Easier to trade every five years than argue with the dealer,:ROFLMAO::LOL::ROFLMAO::LOL:

If one doesn't drain and fill I've read the transmission will last approximately 180-250k miles ?

The real reason is, I prefer to have very little contact with those dealer mechanics. A once-a-year oil change is all I want them doing. I bought my Prius with the goal of having a very low-maintenance vehicle. I hope that holds true.

I need to remove the plastic trim to get access to the back to pull it through. Still sitting like it was from when I bought it new like that.
