I was using the build vehicle feature at Toyota.com this evening and noticed the picture provided for a Prius 4 Touring with PCP, they show a sunroof. I realize this and the HUD are not part of that package, just thought it interesting that they would use that picture for the build.

Well I guess it's a good thing they are reliable then. I've been hearing some horror stories on here about their service. But I always remind myself that it's primarily those that received bad service that are apt to talk about it. Many more that have been satisfied are happy and don't say anything. J

unfortunately, toyota dealers are independent businesses. still, they are no better or worse than any other dealerships. it's the nature of the beast.

Purely editorial: you "can" get your thread title right. ;)

The title is editable by you; look for this pulldown in upper right corner:

    Then pick "edit title"

Can I ask why you did not want the HUD? Is it just a novelty that gets old after a while. I've ordered a 4 with at and pcp but struggling with the decision between that and 4t with pcp as I like the front end look with the fogs so much better than dark blanks on a white car. I could do without the 17" wheels since I've heard they'll reduce mpg and be more expensive to replace, and also looking for a softer ride. Thx, J

Just was never quit right for me. The display! Also the 2016 has a better master dash display and not sure a HUD is a big asset. TBD. They may have improved the HUD. TBD. Nice toy for about a year and then never used it.
My MPG is phenomenal so if people do better with a non touring we need to hide this info before they take out cars.

BTW those Touring tires are very nice tires. 600 wear A A 51 PSI rating and $150 each plus ship at TIRE RACK. Debating on whether to get an extra and hang it in the garage.

I really love my HUD. At the beginning I thought that it was just a nice gimmick, but have grown very fond of it. Miss it every time I drive the wife's car. With HUD, you can keep your eyes 100% on the road, but still be aware of your speed.

The Toyota.de website still doesn't list after 3 months after launch the IPA as an option for the medium trim, which instead my dealer found in the system and offered me. And it was also confirmed to me on an online chat with a Toyota representative when visiting their site. I gave the feedback to them, IPA still not listed as an accessory.
The Prius price list is full of mistakes and inaccuracies, like IPA not listed, puddle lights shown as an option when then it is not listed in the option list, and so on.
As correctly mentioned above, Toyota builds great cars, it has really bad dealerships and sales guys and horrible documentation.
I found all the inaccuracies and errors in the first 5 minutes of reading it.
After 3 months nothing changed, that says it all.
It comforts me there are similar issues elsewhere - it means they are simply really bad - worldwide...
    Pity pity pity.

I think the HUD is the best thing ever - it helps you keep the eyes on the road and to this day, I am ever so glad I have it on my Gen3 and glad they put it standard on the Gen4 mid and higher trims they sell here in Germany.
For me it is fundamental for safe driving, and not really a novelty. All cars should have it - at least to show the speed.

I got a quote to put in OEM fog lights from Toyota. $1800! WAY overpriced. You could get a whole new trim level for that price. The service guy told me to look for aftermarket fog lights.

If you put in facsimile fog lights, once that didn't even work, you wouldn't be missing much, if they're like the third gen OEM foglights.

I can turn ours on/off and it's really challenging, to even tell they're on, let alone helping.

Man, I would love to be able to add them to my 4 with ATP and PCP, then I will have the only thing I regret not having in my order. But not for that price. When I get a delivery date, I'm going to ask my dealer for a quote and see if it is the same. Thx, J

Now that's and interesting idea, and might be worth a look if they sell such a thing. Is that available for 3rd gen, or are you just talking hypothetically? J
