My original delivery date was May, then updated to May/June. Today I was told not to expect delivery until July. (Maybe I shouldn't have ordered red!)
I don't think it has to do with the color. I just think we are not priority markets. Which in a way is a pity because seeing more Prius on the roads here would pick attention - nobody really knows what a Prius is here, or it is not thought about. They all like the TDIs and VW/Mercedes/Audi/BMWs. Even if their design is sometimes old fashion and their engines pollute (it is a fact!). (I must say that some Mercdes new models have a really modern and elegant design though - I like a lot their latest A and B models. If just they packed some real fuel efficient tech like the Prius, and were more affordable, had more than 2 years of warranty and it didn't cost heaps to get them serviced...).
Here in Australia, at least my corner, the dealers aren't interested. I've spoken to 6 salesmen at 4 different dealerships, and their knowledge or Prius, and of when it will be available was poor, and their interest in Prius was close to nil. 2 were going to ring me back because they could get a car from another dealer to their dealership for me to test-drive it. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later.
Oh dear, Australia seems serviced *really* bad - why does Toyota do not have any quality control over their dealers? Even the one here in Munich leave a lot to be desired....
Hiya - we can sit in the waiting corner together by the look of it Don't know if you saw my other post but my March order was originally estimated for May delivery, then June, then July, and Toyota GB have just told me September
It seems that they're all independent - same with all brands except Tesla. There are supply problems with a number of brands here lately - Honda has almost no Civic hatches & none due till 2017 for example. And I've come to work out that many dealer's stock listings on websites are carelessly inaccurate.
Excellent news! Happy for you! It is a good sign. Ordered shortly before me and with delivery of July pulled in almost 3 months! Yay! Colin, what model/color did you order? what options?
It's the UK "Business Edition", Hypersonic Red, with the Toyota Touch 2 with Go Navigation option, and the detachable towbar UK brochure here: Prius
Congratulations! I like the steering wheel on the right! Plus you have more color and wheel options. Why does the UK get a "Business Edition" and we don't?
Autofold mirrors for the win. Congratulations. Also, is it my imagination or are the rocker sill covers thicker towards the rear door area. I think you ( we ) Brits call them side skirts. ;-) LG-H901 ?
You get a 56 page brochure - we get exactly half with 28 pages (online) or 4 page handout at dealer. You have some things available which aren't even available on our $47,000 I-Tech model. We also only get 2 models, neither have options available except paint colour (and we have no options of upholstery either). Particularly I notice heated and folding mirrors, front park sensors and park assist aren't offered, which Toyota Australia have decided we don't want here (but still charge a substantial extra for the I-Tech model for little benefit).
We do have folding and heated mirrors though on our 'base' model is Aus though (something the dealer didn't know about!)
