So I have never rolled down the rear window to noticed until now. I was messing around with TechStream's option (turning on the pressing the remote unlock button 2.5 seconds to roll down all windows).
Anyways, it worked but when I looked at the rear windows, it doesn't roll down 100% like the front. There is about 1" left towards the front edge of the rear door left when it bottoms out. Also the left side (driver side) is bottoming out slidely higher than the rear passenger side (may be about 1/4" higher). Is this normal?

Is this a new 2016 prius? For my 2015, both rear windows roll all the way down and evenly.

I would take car to dealer and see if other new ones do the same thing

I think this is normal. In almost every car I've had for the past 20 years, I've had the rear windows have a little bit of window showing when fully rolled down. I think this is a child safety feature so it isn't as easy to fall out of the windows. It happens on mine and my old Prius

Ummm I wouldn't go that far... But if I'm a kid falling out, I would definitely hang on that 1" window ledge...Lol

Some cars show more of the rear windows, like my 2005 Prius. I might also have to do with the shape of the door. The window might not have enough room to roll down completely.

Actually I was hoping someone with a 2016 just roll down the rear windows and see if it looks like that. That would save me a trip to the dealer if that is the way it's designed.

Since the two sides are the same (but with the passenger side coming down just a tad lower), I'm thinking that's the way it is but don't mind confirmation :)

The GII Prius is the same. It's because the door is shaped to fit around the wheel. That means there isn't enough room for the glass to roll all the way down. Many cars are like this. I haven't tried in my GIII (it's hard to drive it from the back seat) but my guess is it's the same with it as well.
It has nothing to do with child safety. Rear door child safety locks are the little toggles on the inside of the door frame (open the rear door and you will see them). With those engaged the rear doors can only be opened from the outside.

This is my FORD, and my last few cars at least have been much the same. I think it could be the profile of the roofline, the profile of the top of the door, and that the glass can't drop too deep inside the door. The door also narrows toward the bottom. 20160501_124657_resized_1.jpg

The OP asked if someone can roll down their rear windows and see if the windows go flush.

Else he can travel to his dealer which, OP, may be the quickest answer.... plus free coffee there?

That's the way I read the post.

    I have a 16 prius v...not applicable.

    Good luck.
