    Exterior looks aren't too important to me. As long as it isn't hideous like the image going around with the front end that protrudes and looks like it was stuck on after the fact.

    I'm happy with our Gen II but have just a couple of things on my wish list.

    1) 55mpg
    2) Keep the price around $25K
    3) Get rid of the flying buttress console (a deal breaker for me)
    4) Put the gauges behind the steering wheel like other cars.
    5) Have a spare tire, even a temporary spare would be acceptable. (another deal breaker)
    6) If possible increase the already good cargo space.

    The rear reminds me of what the Germans are doing with the shortback, high riding, dune buggies that weigh 2 tonnes. The lights on the Avalon is designed to make the car look smaller. If you put that on a small car, the car will look small. Designers use cues, elements and lighting to give different effects when one views the car.

    total EV with 500mil range, 10 min recharge time at converted (gas to elect) convince store or Mr Fusion power plant
    Full function (configurable information) color HUD
    Spare Tire
    Internet based (working) Nav, area directory
    for long trips a Co-Pilot Mode for driving
    good amount of storage space
    Electrochromic glass for tinting , with heating for Ice removal
    80% eff Solar Cell for daytime charging

    way way out there: Flying mode

    just off the top of my head

    How about a liquid crystal paint job. Set your vehicle color with a dial on the dash, apply a wallpaper if you wish.
