He said the Bolt EV would be able to get 300 and that seems quite doable. I got 57 miles on my EPA 35 rated 2011 Volt a number of times while driving around doing normal errands and commuting much less on a controlled track. Ideal in an EV is usually around 15-20 mph with constant speed and no stopping. True ideal driving gets you nearly 2x the EPA estimate so 300 miles in a Bolt is "easy". The only problem is staying awake while you drive 20 mph for 15 hours. If you go 26 mph you can set cruise control. Need AutoPilot!

post #18. He says 2014 volt, and that's the basis of my comment.
No disagreement re what he said - we can get horrible efficiency via horrible circumstances & great via great conditions. Plus or minus for driver's skill.

The reference to getting 300 miles in post #18 was to the Bolt EV:

As a PIP owner who regularly only gets about 9 miles of EV, and who has complained before about the engine coming on so easily (heat, a/c, the slightest extra nudge on the accelerator), I'm somewhat sympathetic to OP's complaints. Less than 6 miles seems pretty unusual though. However, I have noticed that jumping onto a Houston freeway with EV on at 65 to 75 mph will rather quickly deplete the battery. Haven't bothered to test how quickly (or how far it goes), since I generally turn EV off when I'm doing that.

I think Bisco got it already. OP's numbers on the opening post suggests 10 miles EV per charge.

while i think the o/p's concern is normal, his lack of communication makes it difficult to sort things out. but sometimes an internet rant just makes us feel better, and we can move on with life.

Some seek out a venue to vent frustration from not having studied well before purchasing. Some make an abrupt discovery upon joining about something they had overlooked. Some post for the sake of exchanging information and learning more.

We see all kinds here. It serves as validation of Prius reaching a diverse range of people.
