Raised the car up for winter and never heard it pop. Just lowered it back down and it creaks a bit but I attribute the noises to it being a 10 year old car. Much better than how it was last year.

What bolts were you using and with what bar? I had to use Corolla bolts for my TRD rear bar due to the increased diameter of the holes. Also make sure they're properly torqued.

It was the larger OEM bolts suggested by JUSTDIDIT on a Progress bar. Went back to the original bolts.

Well this is crazy. The progress bar at it's cheapest is $138 shipped. I can get the TRD bar PTR11-02060 at my local dealer for 148 plus tax so 156.98. Plus it's painted in red. Basically almost a nobrainer.

Is there any real diff between the 2 bars? Is the progress bar better in anyway before I purchase the trd version?

Also do i need the additional nuts and bolts or is that options?

Slightly offtopic but is this the correct front sway bar I need to buy. Just checking: 09 10 11 12 13 14 15 Toyota Corolla Front Spring Stabilizer Sway Bar 48811 AB011 | eBay

there are no bushings on the rear bar. I did upgrade the bolts and add some heavy washers; it just looked like the oem bolts and nuts weren't very good. very small clamping area. the trd bolts are more substantial. I used benz control arm bolts and washers. they've never come loose yet.

    Merged.

the fitment chart says it will fit back to '05. if that's really true, then it should work. I think you can get a better deal if you keep looking. and the front does need to come with bushings, unless you plan on using urethane.

I messaged him and he's offering it for $58 shipped which isn't bad. It's a 2015 bar apparently. From the pics doesn't it come with the bushings? It's the 2 rubber bushings on the pic right?

also I ended up ordering a trd bar vs the progress since the price was basically the same for me. Are they basically the same thing?

I just noticed the brackets and bushings are in the picture, so your good there.

I haven't checked out the trd, but if its the same diameter, it probably does perform the same. the progress worked great, so I'm sure you will love the trd when you get it installed. and it will look cooler.

Alright so the install took like 30 min. Super easy. Didn't even need a breaker bar.

What do you do with the rubber piece that the sway sits on? Shave it down and fit it or is it not needed anymore?

I threw mine away. never mind that, it looks way better then the boring gray progress bar. but tell us how you like it. tell us if you think it handles better.

I took it for a quick run. First one hairpin turns the tires squeal a lot less and it feels like the back tires are more planted. I compared before and after. Definately worth the price. I didn't upgrade the rear bolts or nuts and torqued it to 130ftlbs. More than enough. The car lack enough power to get decent speed after a turn but it definately turns corners with more composure and stability. Will be installing the front sway from the matrix next and I should be done with my upgrades. Handles well enough for me.

Looks really good! (y) I think the the two bars (Progress and TRD) are actually identical other than the paint and decal.

Was consensus reached on which Front Sway Bar had better fitment on the Gen2?

Curious what the difference is between these two, Camelback hasn't returned an inquiry.

As long as you grab a 2002-2008 Matrix or 2002-2016 Corolla front sway bar from a junkyard...All of these 24mm front sway bars that will work with the 2004-2009 USDM Prius.

I'm skeptical - they have two postings on eBay. Both for a 26mm bar but they each say something different- one says solid the other says hallow - both with the same part #.

I actually inquired directly to Megan Racing and they could never give me a straight answer.

My guess that it's hallow.. so it would have Weight savings but no increase in stiffness over the 24mm solid bar made by progress and TRD.

I'll post in the 'For Sale' once it's officially... but it got totaled based on the cost of repair VS the value of the car.

All suspension will be for sale...
